MOST COMMON ASKED QUESTION: "Why DEAD IRON belt?". Well, because our weapon *Blade of the tribes has following secondary: "WAR CRY and Threatning shout now CAUSE and Avalance and Earthquake". And Since Dead Iron roll's a secondary free stat with up to 200 % Avalanche damage, then why not use it?". We ran simulations in d3planner, and this IS the best choice.

Weapon master verse animosity is more about the fury pool cool down on leap than it is the extra damage.
The goal with animosity is to hit the 180 fury breakpoint (+20 from animosity +10 from belt) in order to get that extra second of CDR on leap.
So so basically the QoL decision is use
weapon mastery and deal 400% less on Boulder toss and wait an extra second on leap, or use animosity and have to pay more attention to when you time your shouts.
it is possible to hit the 180 fury pool without animosity, but that requires max fury on both belt and weapon, which can be quite hard to get.
Lut socks are kind of pointless because earthquake damage does not stack.... similar to the wizards 'blizzard' spell.
you just get a ton of earthquakes that do NO additional damage and leap cool down is already super low.
better to toss in a string of ears, strongarms, or whatever other armor cube slot you want.
Yes true......
always has been
just like blizzard... the separate dots do not stack.
I remember this from long time ago making old 4 piece earth barb with lut socks... and tested it.
Same here....unless the devs changed it since then (and I hope they did). Earthquakes do not stack.
You can put 5 of them under an enemy and they take damage only from 1. @knightlion... get good scrub. Math to OP for you.
Well great if that's true! Does this mean that blizzard also now stacks?
Need a little advice on how to roll my Blade of the tribes. I'm only going to use this build to push solo GR's.
It says (on icy-veins.com) the stat priority for BotT is
Damage Range
Strength
% Damage
Vitality
But on dfans (same build) they want LpfS with Vit.
In both cases they require you to roll off earthquake damage.
Is that the correct or am I miss reading it?
My best BotT is
2246 poison damage
1400 strength
1446 Vitality
10% damage
173% earthquake damage.
Should I really roll of EQ damage % for LpfS?
If not how should I roll the weapon.
Thanks
Thump
Thank you
Another question I had was (and it was probably already stated in the OP, sorry missed it) is this build a zRCR or is that just a last priority for someone under 800 paragon and it still should be maxed if you can?
I've seen other builds where they use zRCR.
Thanks, again!
Thump
I'll play around with it and add the points then take them off and see if I notice difference.
Thanks
To each their own. I highly suggest everyone try all the specs and play what they like! I think only 2 of the top 20 in NA currently are MotE so it remains competitive. but clearly not the favourite.
Is there any changes to this build if you were to play in groups like a gem change or a roll stat?
Thanks
Thump
So basically you want to leap 3x then Boulder toss to fury dump your full fury bar. Leap again the second it's off Cooldown.
if you are playing with the 180 fury breakpoint (animosity + 10 fury from belt/weapon) the three leaps won't quite fill your 180 fury, even if you land on mobs all three times, and you might not fully reset the leap Cooldown. I'm in this spot, since I don't have CDR on rings yet. So this is my rotation. The shouts you can use at any point during the leaps, earlier the better, and EQ I typically cast right before I Boulder toss, after a leap cycle.
Leap x3 + threatening shout - Boulder toss
leap x3 + war cry - Boulder toss
leap x 3 + threatening shout - Boulder toss
leap x 3 - earthquake - Boulder toss.
rinse repeat.
Typically you can use threatening shout every other cycle and you can use war cry and earth quake every 4-5 cycles.
DO NOT use both shouts in the same leap cycle. It will hurt your Cooldown reduction on subsequent cycles. Once in a while you will end up having all 3 skills on CD during a leap cycle and you'll have to throw a non- max fury Boulder and deal with the extra 1 second Cooldown. This will prolly be remedied by more CDR.
You could just spam all of your cool downs the second you hit a pack, it ends up being slightly more damage, however you end up with more time on the ground between leaps cycles, meaning more damage taken, and less mobility to avoid frozen and arcane sentry.
Do note being airborn pervents arcane sentry damage, so plan your hops. Being airborne will stop you from being frozen but you still take the frozen damage- so I like to leap out, leap back in in this scenario. You also take full molten explosion damage while airborne so hop outta that one too.
I just got an Ancient Blade of Tribes, but it has a very low EQ dmg roll (154%), and Life per Hit. My old one has 195% EQ dmg, Vit instead of Life per Hit, and 400 less dps. Any tips on if the new one is better?
For legs it says to get Str, Vit, AR, and Socket, but AR is not an option on pants.. Should that be armor?
Also for feet it says Skill: CotA, which isn't an option and I don't know that it'd make sense if it was an option. Should that be Ancient Spear?
If you have a secondary resistance you can't roll All Res as a primary in your case you can go either armour or Life Regen and Cota skill is an error with the build creation it is actually Ancient Spear
Finally manage to clear grift 70 solo ;D
1) Why All Res on shoulders instead of 15% Earthquake Damage? I thought all damage from this build comes from EQ.
2) Why 15% CotA Damage instead of 12% Movement Speed? I thought CotA doesn't provide damage in this build.
I was thinking that attack speed may be worth adding when nearing an end game version of this build.
Just thinking that at very high levels killing rift guards is probably taking up a good chunk of the clear time, attack speed would equal more stricken stacks quicker and a faster kill on RG.
Anyone experiment with this? I guess the issue would be where would you put the AS. On Weapon in place of life per fury, ring instead of strength/CDR... I'd hate to sacrifice CHD or CHC for it
1) You get so much skill damage from your weapon it very much reduces the value of EQ damage on shoulders. Still an extremely viable option.
2) Error made when OP was setting up all the PTR builds on dfans. He doesn't play these builds so he will probably never update them.
As an update to my progress. I have managed to do 77 and think I can do 80 probably as my personal goal for the season. Looks like the highest clear so far is 81 in asia and a few 80s on the other boards.
