Its a LoN build so this isn't a starting build. This is a fun alternative when you want to smash some lower content and feel powerful, great for low gem levels and casual T13 farming

You can make this work with some basic ancient parts and upgrade as you go, the core build is quite flexible

Unlike the only currently viable set Inarius, your pets can actually damage things that are not 3 millimetres away from you

Build Guide

An alternative, some might say exotic build for the Necromancer

I was frustrated with the current Necro sets and interactions, this build is not for pushing high greater rifts, its for casually surviving T13 and GR 60-70 rifts while attempting to actually have some fun with the Necro. My gear is not perfect, I don't have fully augmented gear, still looking for some useful pieces.

The basic idea is to start by activating the golem to get some corpses, only cast mages when at max essence when possible (and just after casting bone armor for the 300% damage bonus). Rather have fewer fully powered mages than 10 crap ones. Once you get the hang of it its really great.

This build is kind of a ramp up build, you don't start fully powered and you don't stay fully powered for long. It takes practice to know your best next move and picking up items in a rift can cost you effective killing power.

Rift guardian fights, try to save your golem for this when you see the progress bar creeping up.
