Patch 16 Official Patch Notes and Unofficial Class Changes
There was a lot of news today, so make sure to check out the Official patch notes along with the unofficial changes which can be found in this post. We have a quick look at some changes that took place in patch 16. Keep in mind these are just some of the changes. We'll have some more for you later.
Captain Daltyn - New Ability In patch 16
It looks like there was a small change to Captain Daltyn this time around. He now summons 4-5 Ice orbs that grow then explode
Language Options
Though we first saw the UI change in patch 14. You are now able to select and confirm different languages for your game client. As of this time though I would suggest NOT to try this. After selecting this option, you will be greeted with a friendly error that you can't read (if you selected a random language). To revert currently requires deleting your battle.net cache!
Moving Items Between Accounts
One trick that I discovered for myself was this: I made the limit of different characters on my account as soon as I could (so five characters in the first few minutes on Regular mode, and after I qualified for Hardcore, five Hardcore characters.)
I found that as I played, I put things in the shared stash that other characters would benefit from, and the stash got full immediately. By having the characters created and ready, I'm able to quickly log into them (keeping them all near the stash) and grab items that are intended for them to use someday.
Now when I look at a character selection screen and only see one or two characters, it feels wrong to me. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)
The #1 Thing You Are Excited For?
It changes a lot, but today, I'm most looking forward to the soundtrack. I was studying StarCraft II earlier, and I had the StarCraft II soundtrack playing at the time, and it was very invigorating. I regularly listen to the Diablo / II soundtracks while working on Diablo things, and I simply can't wait to add the Diablo III soundtrack to them.
Everything I've heard from it so far has made me exceedingly happy about playing the retail game at full volume. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)
Max Characters SC/HC
Yup. You can have ten normal mode monks.
You can have three normal demon hunters, three hardcore demon hunters, and one hardcore barb.
You can have seven normal characters, two hardcore witch doctors, and room for another hardcore witch doctor. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)
How many attacking abilities do you have
On my Demon Hunter, when I got all of the slots unlocked, I looked at them and realized that three were direct damage, one was a pet summon, and two were defensive (Caltrops and Vault).
So - a nice mix, I think. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)
I created a WD and played through the content again and I'm almost certain they upped the drop rate of rares.
I've been in the beta for several months now and beforehand, I'd literally go about a dozen complete runs without finding a rare item off of anything aside from first Leroic kills. On this last runthrough, I found 3 rares before I even made it to the SK. Either I had an exceedingly lucky run (with hardly any MF) or the drop rate of rares has increased.
Anyone else notice this?

Oh pitiful shadow lost in the darkness,
Bringing torment and pain to others.
Your damned soul wallowing in your sin.
Perhaps... it is time to die.
I guess the 10 characters per account limit is okay, as you can have one of every class for every game mode and don't really have the need to have multiple chars of the same class.
in-game language options eh? that's cool
too bad that the Korean version will support ONLY Korean. and they say that they intend to only allow koreans to enter the KR realm. yet they are still vague to the specifics like whether it is possible to enter the KR realm with an US client or so on.
just seems like they're just ignoring any language related questions and waiting it out until release, heck it won't be the first time they've done that.

Slightly higher I think. Also noticed the corpse of Haedrig's Apprentice has a 100% drop rate for a blue
i don't like the purchasing of rings especially the 2-4 dmg ones i think those should be found not bought from a vendor i hope blizz fixes that cuz then the games to easy...

Not for me. Only had 1 rare in total (a belt from leoric), and I even did all the crypts twice

I can see what you see not. Vision milky, then eyes rot.
When you turn, they will be gone. Whispering their hidden song.
Then you see what cannot be. Shadows move where light should be.
Out of darkness, out of mind. Cast down into the Halls of the Blind
Just wanted to add that Captain Daltyn's Frozen ability actually scales with the number of players in the game. I don't think we have seen scaling on any affix before this so that's kind of neat.

Buyable Rings In Beta Patch 16
Thanks to Overneathe for the tip on this one. It looks like we will now be able to buy some level 6 rings.

Thunderclap is incredibly OP..... Teleport + AOE damage on all hits....
1) Elective Mode
2) Drag an ability out of any slot
3) There you have your basic attack
4) Profit
Also, yay for purchasable rings! I don't expect to be able to buy really powerful rings, but it'll be nice to fill out the slots with something.
Lucky has NEVER been MF... thats scouting.
Lucky is GF
