I really like the new classes for Diablo 3. It feels like they mixed certain skills from different classes to make each class very adaptable. The barbarian got more aoe skills & movement skills so it's kind of like a barbarian/sorceress. The demon hunter is like an amazon/assassin hybrid. The monk is like an assassin/paladin mix. The witch doctor is like a necromancer/sorceress. The wizard is like a sorceress/magic damage necromancer. Many combinations of the Diablo 2 classes could be made for new classes in the expansions. What combinations would you others want to see? Maybe a necromancer/druid class where its only skills involve summoning? Maybe a paladin/necromancer class that steals life with its melee attacks & steals its resource with minions?
its funny you bring this up, im betting 5$ that expansion will have a kind of dark/knight/warrior kind of class, or at the very most some one who casts magic spells who also runs in with a sword =/ ( who is also a semi dark character), dunno why, I can just feel it.
At first I thought I was weird for really wanting a class with shield skills, but then I peaked into Diablo communities and noticed many others feel the same way. It would be a challenge for the developers to think of a way to make such a character play like no other, compared to the barbarian in particular. I can think of a number of ways, but that is ultimately up to the developer.
Also, I honestly do not think the Barbarian has any similarities to the Sorceress just because she has more mobility options now. It is just more about the fact that, while the Barbarian was a favourite of many players, the majority of his skills were passive and bleh in general. There is so much more that can go into a melee class and that is simply how the Barbarian evolved.
Though the similarities between the Demon Hunter and Amazon/Assassin are pretty spot-on. Of course the martial arts aspects vaguely lives in spirit with the Monk, but the traps and discipline skill trees, in addition to the darker character design aspects, are certainly reborn. I hope Smoke Screen functions like Cloak of Shadows did in Diablo II. That was the most fun ability for me.
i think a shapeshifter like the druids wolf/bear would be awesome but mixed with necromancer to have some type of bone skills!!
I'd be game for any monster class.
I loved playing the werebear duid because he was a huge monster with basic, visceral, claw and bite attacks.
To keep from just remaking the druid, they could have it be some sort of demon or zombie flesh golem monster.
Call em Alchemists, and make it a dr. jeckle / mr. hyde thing.
A melee class that augments their body with demons / the undead, and that can either shoot bones, or quills, or some other sort of biological weapon.
that would be sick! im really liking this idea! kudos!
maybe thats why they decided to not make the DH part demonic, cuz maybe they have it planned for better class

It's called Death Knight and it's a WoW class, so no.
PS D2 + D2 = D4 !
And a sudden plunge in the sullen swell. Ten fathoms deep on the road to hell...
I would like to see a paladin/knight class, but maybe dark style.
Nah, D2+D2 = D2x2 or 2D's + 4
I felt this way from very early on too. Combination of focused and few pets with the mid range casting is very much the druid in my mind.
