To anyone who is looking to gain "Like's" on Facebook for their fan page, I am a social networker and I have a good social networking technique to generate "Like's" by running a contest. This, of course, comes at a small price. Please PM me if you're interested.
Will we get to know the shortlist? Good to know at least 1 person liked my csi:miami one, twas my fav of my other submitted ones. Im really sad i couldnt submit my flash file
It was the unburied chasing the dhunter around in circles then going through the door and coming out of different places, running past eachother like in those cartoon scenes, with the benny hill music in the background. It was some pretty good 'shopping to replace the background where they were standing etc. And i learned how to use flash just for it. Oh, well, i had fun
The thread will be closed today, expect about another day for us to decide on a winner. So 36 hours-ish from now most likely.
Basically my day/night will be spent scouring the thread until my eyes bleed and making a list of the ones I really like, once we all have a list we'll sort of go from there. We want to get a beta key to you guys as soon as possible so I doubt we'll give out a short list of who we're considering.
Will we need a bnet account with a bought game on it if we win? Cos i lost my bnet account when i changed my email/stopped playing d2 for a long period of time, so now i cant even opt in for beta :(. But back to mah question, is it neccessary?
Even though they said they were OK with Photoshopping the image, I hope they go back and rethink what it would tell people if they veer off from their own rules. The title and description clearly say captions, not change this picture until it becomes funny.
If you change the picture, even a tiny bit, it defeats the purpose of creating a funny caption for the original.
I saw this, and I realized they most likely won't follow their own rules, but still decided to stick with the rules to be fair.

uhhh what? Our own rules? we never said you COULNT edit them..in fact its what makes the pictures good. In fact read the first post (aka mine) I even say from the very start you can.
I say require a join date of at least 1 month to participate. This would discourage a lot of new members I guess but it will give the REAL members a better chance to win. I guess it's good to get a lot of action in the community though.
I do also think an actual caption competition would be better than being able to Photoshop because there are those of us who do not even own any photo editing software, but anyone can make a caption.
I think that the next one should have either clearer rules or not be called a 'caption competition'.
A caption comp should be about adding a caption to an image only, no more added extra artwork or image editing. Also, it generally has the original image with a speech bubble (or more than one) or caption box added somewhere. Then it's limited to who is saying what, or putting a caption box to the overall image, and the person entering only needs to add text in the specified places. Anyone doing anything else is then discounted.
This would save a lot of the rubbish that's turned up in this competition and hopefully force people into concentrating on the content of their text instead of the abstract absurdity of their apparent drug induced Paint skills.
Then everything would be the same.. sounds boring. And caption contest means there is captions... you are allowed to edit other things, ive seen very few caption SS contests where you were not allowed to edit the picture... that just makes it boring, and a snooze fest.

No way. The point is to give everyone a chance. There are people who joined 5 months ago and have 3 posts and yet people that joined due to this contest alone and now have like 30 quality active posts.
Also... You dont need to use photoshop, good old ms paint.. some of my favs from this were Horrible looking, but were funny beyond anything and very unique..and yet were so basic at the same time.
In the end, no matter what we pick, were going to have people QQ about it not being this, or this being allowed...ect

I have visited this site/forum for really long time. I have never registered, becasue I am not that one who "needs" post on forums or comment topics. But still I liked and I like to visit site like this one is. Yeah I finally registered here to have a chance to get a beta key but maybe it is point of Diablo Fans site - to get people together and make nice comunity !
Good luck to everyone who entered and created some pictures
Same here, I'm sure this contest helped encouraged many long time lurkers to register with this site.
Also, if they're giving away 2 keys a week, my vote would be to have one key for a 'Caption Only' picture contest & another key for a separate 'Modified' picture contest. Both can have some great results, but it's really like comparing apples to oranges.

They said early on you can add anything to the picture aswell. Now you want to disqualify 99% of the post? Aren't you just a stickler.... You're still not going to get a key either way, muahaha.
Why state in the rules that it is a caption contest and then go backstab everyone who follows the rules by picking a winner that got no caption, GREAT caption contest, really...
try reading the first post, aka mine, Added it right there at the very start, that you could add stuff, so people need to stop QQing. If you really cared you would have PM'ed a mod (like the 500 I got) And I Would have happily told you as well that it was allowed.
