I know one thing I currently don't miss is ETHEREAL ITEMS!
Sure the concept of having a weapon that did a lot more dmg but can't be repaired was kinda cool but the only problem was nobody would use it.. just like nobody would use the 5/5 cast of BO a sword came with. Its like. No..
What do you guys NOT MISS from the Diablo series so far..
Bolts and Arrows is also my big one.. thank god their gone
I don't miss arrows and bolts from D2. And I don't miss potion spamming.
I don't miss the annoying dungeons... A billion doors and rooms without any logical sense... Hated so many D2 dungeons.
This will be a major one for me aswell. The cooldown on potions and the added drop of health globes is one of the best gameplay changes any game has ever made, let alone just for Diablo.
Runewords which were impossible to get without duping.
Tiny inventory space filled with charms.
Losing items transferred in "drop" games since there was no shared stash.
Ninja-looting.
Needing multiple accounts for item storage.
Having to find trade games.
Trading for SOJ's and gems since gold was worthless.
Duped items which disappeared without warning.
Endless boss runs.
Having to level a new character for every new build idea.
Very few proficient builds - and just about two dozen viable builds...
Stat points - STR for gear, dex for block, rest vit
Open World PvP
Mundane leveling process - 8 player Tristram Runs -> 8 player tomb runs -> 8 player baal runs -> 8 player nightmare baal runs -> 8 player Hell CS runs until ~80 then Hell Baal runs x15000
The Maggot Lair
All of Act III
All players learn the same spells via books (D1)
Godly Plate of The Whale (Was a hacked item in D1 - The game can't spawn it in a legit manner)
Wisps
Bone Fetishes
Fire Enchanted sometimes one-shotting you upon death explosion
Horadric Cube recipes
Double/Triple Immunities
The resolution
Shrines that don't tell you what they do (Talking about D1)
+1-3 Skill items instead of +5-20% Damage/Radius/Etc (So glad they changed this)
Rune-words giving every class skills that aren't from their class
Everybody using Mana
Open B.net
Potion Spamming
Bots (Both chat and running bots)
Ith Bugs and similar bugs
Rushing
Bolts and Arrows
Ethereal Throwing Weapons (Sad that we don't have throwing weapons though :()
Synergy with skills (I don't mean how well they work together...I mean boosting the damage of other spells!)
Lightning Beetles in A2
Lagging into Duriel's room -> Death (Remedied a little while after D2 came out due to technological advancement)
Gold was worthless
Stamina sucked ass at lower levels
As a Barb the game was honestly auto attack fever until you had enough mana leech + damage to stay capped
Iron Maiden as a Barb/Pally in Hardcore
Minions of Destruction sometimes kept knocking you back and you couldn't hit them
You eventually out-leveled the monsters in A5 Hell
Cow portal couldn't be opened after your King was slain while you were in the game
I don't miss the linear progression, but it's coming back in D3. The only reason I didn't like the linear progression was because the whole game became Baal runs. The experience gained from doing that last portion of the game was way too much as well. As long as the boss fights are more involved and the experience gained from them is minimal (perhaps give a decent amount of quest experience from defeating bosses for the first time,) the game won't end up being like D2 ended up being for me.

Some people tell me I'm going to hell. I just let them know that I've already packed my bags!
Forgot to add, i don't miss the slow and boring gameplay of the first Diablo game, it was fun and exciting when it came out, but playing it now feels so sluggish.
needing to re-roll a char to try a new build. act 3. god. damned. act. 3. character-to-character trading. muling. bot spam. random player aggro. xp death penalty. assigning stats. duriel.
Corpse runs in narrow area's with clustered mobs were horrible. The halls before and at Diablo were a nightmare, spent so much money on reviving the mercenary to provide distraction for 3 seconds.
LOL Oh how I used to loath being stuck in a thin spaced maggot lair with these things. Although the lightning couldn't spread well there, if you died and didn't drop a TP.. yeah. That corpse is as good as gone

I agree with all of this.
Now that I think about it, d2 sux ass compared to d3. I can't think of anything that is really better....

enigma. being in australia means that i can never cast tele as fast as my fcr lets me because i will end up teleing to the same. spot. like 3 times before moving anywhere. So it's useless for me. Also, buying items. im pissed off that the RMAH even exists, i think its BS that people can just buy items for a dollar it takes ALL the fun out of end game, cause you know there will be people walking around in full sets because mummy gave them 20 bucks. pisses me off thinking about it. I would be happy if Blizz put a big sign on the bottom of the item in inspect saying BOUGHT OFF RMAH or something. so you know who actually plays the game properly

yeah in essence thats what the expansion was endless baal runs and i hated it
Autoattacking because you're OOM as a Barb with no mana regen per hit at a low level.
Just two skills.
All the gear looked pretty much the same.
Lightning-enchanted beetle guys from Act II.
1 or 2 Skill spam
Small inventory
Immunities
