Peter Higgs will win a Nobel Prize for this discovery, no doubt about it. If not now, definitely within the next couple of years, since it's not 100% proved that it's in fact the Higgs Boson particle; just that it's "a new" particle. The theoretical properties of the particle, like the spin value (1, 2) has to 0 and this haven't been confirmed yet, only that this particle has a mass of 125.3±0.6 gigaelectronvolts, which is what the Higgs Boson particle supposedly weigh. Don't really know what the spin value is, so go read those links.
Anyway, hope they make new discoveries soon, the future can only be bright ahead!
PS Do you remember my post less than a week ago?!?! We were talking about teleportation, time/space travel, speed of light etc. and I asked what the next big scientific breakthrough will be....just feels cool that after I started thinking about science again (after a long absence) less than a week ago, they actually made one of the biggest scientific breakthroughs in our history!!
What did you get? and grats! did they drop at the same time?

Dudes...I have a bug which makes the Perfect Square ***** 30 000 gold...like it was before the patch. The combination of previous gems are as it's suppose to be ~ 50-100 gold. Should I download and reinstall the patch or what?!

In my post I was referring to your clearly avid, bordering on geeky knowledge of current particle physics as disdinctly not Lame. In fact my intention was to imply excitment in the same vain as you so clearly showed.
In hindsight I should have enchanced my post to clarify that I did indeed share your enthusiasm for this subject and corroborated your statement with equal geeky and obsessive detail. I apologies profusley for causing a situation in which I appear to be condescending towards you.
In light of this unfortunate misunderstanding, I debase myself before you and wish for a mutual disclosure in which we both agree, that particle physics kicks butt, and that this recent discovery is a great joy.

I can't talk like you just did, since English isn't my home/first language...but I'll try to keep at this butt kicking way of speaking whilst on this topic. You should also note that I and many alike may have an avid quest to gain knowledge of new things, especially in the scientific field. However, that's where my knowledge of this topic unfortunately ends. I just know the stuff I read in that articles (what I can remember after a fourteenth of a fortnight).
Anywaysies, your joyously, butt kickingly, particle physics mutual discloser is granted! This discovery is indeed one for the so called books.

This thread is always so fun. When you have been gone for a while and come back to check the most recent page, it could be anything.
It's kind of like having a favorite coffee shop, where some days you walk in and people are talking about particle physics, and some days its gooby and dolan.

I really wish I had the rest of the week off, I could use a vacation about now.
I would love the rest of the week off. I was staying with my love out of town last night. It was a rush pack job, and I forgot to pack anything work appropriate.
So today I'm at work in a twice worn novelty tee, with giant frizzy hair, and flip flops. Then I get to drive 12 hours tonight, and come back to work tomorrow. Not sure, when I'm going to get time to get more clothes together either. It sucks.
I really wish I had the rest of the week off, I could use a vacation about now.

Playing Diablo since 97. I know nothing and having nothing good to say, I be a troll.
Actually it was a pretty dull visit. The only thing hectic about it was that I had to drive back this morning for work, and not being home to sort out more clothes. LOL!
Since we had a great weekend last weekend, I have to drive all over tonight, and this weekend will be busy, we decided to keep our fourth of July visit very chill. Just watched some True Blood and Psych, and had friends over to play "You Don't Know Jack" on Wii. Turns out, I really don't know jack.
Act 1 farming with my WD because the repair bill in act 2 isn't worth trying to progress. My barb is in NM and it's too easy its fun Wondering what the finding of the God particle actually means... how does this help us?
Sounds exactly like my situation on inferno. I'm still farming Act I when I get time, and I still enjoy it. I'm considering an Alt though, for a change of pace.
