Item hoarders rejoice! Though nothing particularly definitive yet, Bashiok updated us today with another bit of the shiny silver lining of the proverbial clouds of Diablo III! Okay, that was pretty much the worst analogy ever, but still:

it's something we hope to do, it's not designed or in any sort of implementation phase so until we reach that point and either hit a revelation of it working or not we won't know for sure. But yes, still hope to have some sort of easy way to share between characters. "Drop games are dumb." - Bashiok
Shared stashes on the caliber of the popular Diablo II modEastern Sun?Wandering from the archaic and traditional stash concept of the previous games into something more accessible and modern? Hopefully more information will come in the days ahead, and BlizzCon 2010.
What a relief! I remember dropping items for my mule and hoping to switch my alternate character in there before the game drops or disconnects. This will save the hassle.

"It's something we hope to do"? ...Really, that's all? The opportunity to hold onto rare, awesome items and easily transfer them to appropriate alts is an absolute no-brainer, simple feature that improves the players' enjoyment of the game, period. There is no reason whatsoever to stop to think about it. Just do it already.

Yes but the words "drop games" made me think of what they said about where players would get loot and throw out the useless stuff and then everybody would throw out their useless stuff to pick it up etc. Anyway.. Never heard muling games being called drop games before. Must be me
I think everyone might hate me but i have to put in what i thought about this whole problem a few years back. I understand the concept of using mules and i really dont think in the beginning they planned on people needing storage.
Now i'm a hoarder myself..Hardcore. But i also believe in limits. And thats what diablo did, which was a + for this game back when it was first released. No one could have every great item in the game...and it kept people on their toes with a decision to make, which items to keep, and which items to loose.
there always will be hoarders (god knows i was one of the biggest with 4-5 accounts of mules) and since its going to remain so in Diablo 3 they might aswell do it better. at least with one account/user and probably limited character possibilities it wont be that big of a problem anyway.
what i'm more interested about it how to make trading more interesting, easily accessible and less spammy.

This feature should have been added in the many patches of D2 ages ago.

I would like them add the stats interface that PlugY uses.

Your opinion has been noted. Thank you.
