I just have a few questions regarding the DH as I have stopped closely monitoring new threads since 2.1 started and was hoping I could get some help/answers from here.
1.) Does Enforcer gem work for sentries? And I mean when I shoot CA, are the ones shot by the sentries increased in dmg by the gem?
2.) What about inc sentry dmg? do these scale along with the CA shot by the sentries? so if I have, say 15% increase CA and 15% increase sentry, is the damage increased by 30% for those shot by the sentries?
3.) Have people considered Overwhelming desire for the follower amulet? Seems like it's underrated.. or should I be using a different amulet instead?

1. yes.
2. yes, Sentry% increases the CA's shot by the Sentry's (and vice versa). i know that skills themselves are additive, but i'm actually not sure about your follow up q lol, i'm not sure why they wouldn't be additive as well
3. yes, that's actually what i use:D, some go with The Ess of Johan for the added cc/clump up potential
1) The Enforcer value adds to your elemental damage and works for any attacks done by the sentry
2) The sum of Sentry% and Companion% are separate damage multipliers, all other skills are added to your Damage Increased By Skills number (category A)
3) Overwhelming Desire is crap for almost any class or build, even on follower. Use Ess of Johan
1) Enforcer gem does add to your sentry. However people don't use it because sentry are a small part of your damage (as of 2.1.2).
For every sentry you have up, you gain 100% more damage. So best case: 5 sentries up, they do 5*100% damage, you do 600% damage, so sentry is just under half your damage. It only gets worse when you consider, because of cooldown to put sentries down, most of the time there will be 5 up, but only 1-2 at the mobs your are shooting. Your damage is still 600%, sentry is 100-200%. So, any gem to boost your own damage will often outperform enforcer gem
3) Overwhelming desire is a nice follower amulet. Uptime is sadly a bit low. This is why most people go for ess of johan, since their main attack (CA) is also more efficient on groups than single mobs. So this might change in the next patch (where multishot seems the best).
I see.. It seems that pride's fall + cold sentry build is better for higher GR solo so I switched to that from using fire. What would be the ideal gems? I know bane of the trapped will be there. I started using Zei's since I need to be quite far to keep my pride's fall buff up.. but what about the third gem? bane of the powerful is tempting, but it goes down a lot(death/timer) and Taeguk doesn't seem like the easiest to maintain either though it seems like one of the more popular DH solo gems.. any suggestions? is the poison gem worth it?
I've seen physical builds, but it's sort of hybrid with cold sentry and physical CA.. but the cold CA has more rockets and I'm using ballistics to up my DPS

fire is more reliable for group play since you'll 100% have a guy dedicated to grouping stuff up, so cold/physical is normally what people go with in rifts/gr's. cold is nice for aoe when mobs are spread out and physical is the best of both worlds. i'd also recommend you looking into Hexing Pants of Mr. Yan as well as Taeguk, but those 2 require a bit of practice to be masterful, so to start off i'd go with the Pride's Fall for your off piece and BotP for your 3rd gem (for obvious reasons Taeguk is much much stronger in gr's and BotP for rifts). outside of those 4 gems, i don't think there are any really competitive ones;\
i honestly don't know what's changing with 2.2, but if you're just looking to have fun in rifts, i think cold is the way to go (out of the 3 cookie cutter builds). my opinion? wait for 2.2 to be out for a week before you jump in

thanks for the responses! great help I just noticed some DH don't use enforcer so I kind of doubted if it was still applicable to sentries.

I end up playing mostly solo grs, around lower 40s.. I've seen the strafe for 2.2 with the nats set :-D awesome :-D
Anyway, I'll consider hexing pants for more damage but seems I'll get less resource than prides or fire chest.. Thanks!
