Does anyone share my frustration when it comes to players gimping their damage output by like 50% in supposedly fast greater rift farm groups and that the players that don't and deal pretty much all the damage don't get rewarded but punished for doing so?
I feel quite annoyed when I see this wizzard join with leoric's signet+hellfire ring+leorics crown, while I'm wearing a focus and restrain doubling his damage in speed 42 greaters and all he's doing is slowing me down causing rifts to be 3min instead of 2 min. Does anyone share my frustration?
Don't get me wrong, I understand why people do it, but if all 4 players would do it the speed of the clear would be extremely bad, so basically ~2 people are supposed to deal the damage while 2 others leech or something. It feels wrong that the leechers get rewarded for doing so. What's your opinion on this?
I'm not a fan of it. Friend of mine likes to leech off games all the time in pugs and I have to occasionally remind him whenever we get together "Hey, you're still wearing cain's, leorics ring and crown with a ruby, hellfire ring, and using a gem of ease instead of an emerald..." In general I simply leave a public game if there's an obvious person looking to leech or be carried.
They should make bonus XP average out among the party, the way magic find did at release. Of course, that unleashed its own storm of tears. You'd get the same thing from the Wizard you described, complaining that you were being rewarded for his hard work in assembling his sweet +XP gear.
I believe the original concern with that was that you could have a player with all XP gear benefit greatly by leeching drops from others, while you have players with no XP gear benefit greatly by carrying 1 toon dedicated solely to XP. While I like the idea and view it as a win win, I understand that for that 1 player it goes against the devs ideal against passive play styles.

Yeah that was my initial thought too. I don't mind having supports in the group and they can even speed up your time with the right group composition but it's unfair that they get extremely more XP than dps'ers and where some dps'ers feel the need to cut their dps by more than half to get a little XP gear.
I would even settle for a system where you get 2 shares of your XP bonuses and everyone else gets 1 share. ie. in a 4 players group you would get 2/5's of your XP bonus and 1/5 of the other 3 players' bonuses. Then the people who spent time getting good XP gear would be rewarded still but you wouldn't feel obligated to trade lots of dmg for a little XP.
