Yeah I agree. the armor is way too bulky and WoW like. I wouldn't mind the colorful aspect if it were just desaturated a little.. not that D2 didn't have colorful armors, but it seemed more rare then and certainly wasn't the norm.
And as for dark cultists.. when i think of the name 'dark cultist' and picture them in a diablo universe it looks something like this to me:

My typical train of thought: Everything -> Sex -> Diablo
In the game-play video, the commentator says that the environment can and will be used to kill, or destroy enemies. He gives the example of the barbarian performing an attack against a wall, and the rocks falling on the top of the enemy creatures. So one might assume that perhaps they did use the engine you are referring to, or they created their own that could do the same thing. I did hear something about havok and Diablo3 before though, I can't remember anything right now though. lol
honestly the engine looks alot like the SC2 engine but i know i know, they dont use the same engine for two different games, im just saying they both look kickass.
Originally I thought Diablo 3 had too much color and too big of armor. And I have too agree that these things have increased somewhat BUT Diablo 2 had more color and bulky armor than you remember
This bulky armor is not like these bulky garbage in Diablo3 which is so ridiculous and exaggerated..

This is the barbarian. I want most of his armor sets to be incredibly NOT shiny.
As for the color, I'm hoping we can change the color manually, or by using gems. There's nothing wrong with green, but yes, I prefer brown/black/gray, typical armor stuff.
I liked the armor that the first barb picked up, but I wasn't too impressed with the female barb.
I also really like the two barbs in the custom art, so I hope they make some armors based off of them.

Ranger - Ranged Weapon Mastery (fire a bow or javelins like a machine gun!), Traps (MK style!), Pets (lions, tigers, and bears oh my!) - physical damage based
Demonologist - Bone Spells (Necro style!), Avatar (shapeshift into a demon!), Furies (evil spirits that hang around you, giving party bonuses) - mix of physical damage and magic
LEAP ATTACK!!!!! PLAGUE OF TOADS!!!!!

blizzard has already officially stated that they will use the havok physics engine in D3. ragdoll corpses is the big obvious one, don't know what other havoc fun things blizzard decided to include. I don't think this will cut the release date down any though

awesome post! made me laugh. seriously though these cultists are way too flamboyant.
Heres a quote from an interview between kotaku and jay wilson. I direct it at all you people complaining about changing the games look.
Kotaku: In the demo you showed during the Opening Ceremony, you gave us a glimpse at the Witch Doctor class which seems to use several spells similar to those found in World of Warcraft. Do you worry that some fans will think you’re just copying aspects of WoW?
Jay Wilson: No.
"Yeah Jay how does it feel to be developing the most anticipated game in the world?"
Jay: "Fine."

The more I look at the videos, closeups of the characters, and other things, the more I'm disappointed in the look of the game. I'm specifically disappointed in the color choice and the armor. I absolutely despise those stupid large shoulder pads. It's an exact copy of WoW. All in all, it doesn't feel or look like Diablo. I don't care what monsters you throw in their or what actions they do. I was expecting something SO much more gothic.

how many sets of armor have been shown?
how much area, mobs etc have been shown?
even if you don't like it doesn't mean that it isn't good and everyone else would not like it.

That answer could easily mean, "No, I'm not worried about the fans thinking we copied from WoW."
