paying for diablo 3 would be extremely dissapointing, yeah i would pay for it, but just 2 or 3 months to use all chars . but yeah, i really hope its free
Everyone should stop complaining about a measly 15 a month. Anyone that is serious when they say they love Diablo, then they will not feel it so hard. For the real Diablo fanatics, 15 a month is NOTHING. Its 50 cents a day. That's less than your lunch, thats about a can of pepsi out of a vending machine every day. I spend at least 2 dollars every day at work, 15 dollars a month for Diablo would be a blessing, I can just transfer that money from WoW to Diablo.

50 cents a day is too much for you? Lol, mowing lawns for 5 dollars a peice will get you that. Hell, if you have parents, ask for five dollars every week. At then end of the month, you'll have 5 dollars left over.
Seriously though, you pay just as much for a soda a day. 15 dollars is nothing, and its not because I'm rich, I'm quite broke in comparison. If you can't afford 15 a month, then you really aren't much of a Diablo fan, and Diablo should be the least of your worries.
And the general opinion is that clicking is very hard on bad-ping people, which are a big chunk of MMO players. If a MMO will be made it wouldn't have clicking unless Blizzard has some strange plan but I doubt it.
never know, they could make it where you can either click with hotkeys like diablo or push buttons like wow... kind of how mythos is.
also i agree completely with carlos. diablo is a "mature" rated game. if your mature enough to play it, then you should be mature enough to pay for the continuation of added content like a p2p diablo game would come with.

I actually started playing the Diablo series when I was 8, lol.

I personally prefer the hotkeys, you don't have to waste time moving your cursor.
I'd p2p if I had to, I'd just prefer not to. Maybe they could make it p2p to make guilds, and everything else is free? That would certainly work, there's enough clans for it.
I would prefer that Diablo 3 has a monthly subscription. A monthly fee usually means better security and ongoing content. I suppose it would also help in reducing players that talk in all bold letter and say "r" instead of "are" and "u" instead of "you." Reducing those types of players is always a good thing in my book. It will depend on the quality of the game whether I choose to continue paying the fee after the first month or not.
Yes if it's gonna be single player...not for multiplayer...
If you pay for the multiplayer don't ya think it would be the same as WoW ?
Warcraft always had the same graphic style throughout it's entire genre, same with starcraft. I do not see why Blizzard won't keep with their Diablo Style which was amazing. I do hope it is an MMORPG, because i love the atmosphere, and besides their employment page does say "next gen MMO" which has been synonymous with MMORPG as of late.

Pay to play means MMO ==> MMO means crap (to me) ==> I wouldnt play it.
Unless it ALSO has free single player.
MMO doesn't mean that it'll suck. The way I see it is, diablo was done the way it was back in the day because it was easier to do it that way and it would be kept free. Now more and more companies are pushing out MMORPGs which are pay to play because newer technology allows for more people to have access to such servers and bandwidth to take on the task. I am rooting for Diablo III to be a true MMORPG setting, blizzard knows Diablo has a huge fanbase and the majority of them will be older and paying a monthly fee will not be a problem. You all saw the disgrace that was hellgate london, I do not think blizzard will try to follow in those footsteps, if hellgate did not fail they might, but after that nobody will want to try a game which had a similar setup. And besides, the original diablo series was completely open to hacking of all types, sure you can get protection without paying but by paying you usually insure your account and the items on it. Besides, what is 15$ a month? When i first started playing WoW, i did not have a job and unlike a lot of other kids, i did not get my parents to pay for it, I did every sort of random thing that I can to get 15$ and well, I was happy and still had money left over. Now to make 15$ i work for a bit over an hour. I do not see why people complain about paying for a service when the cost is so low you would hardly notice it.
Please allow me to say my 2 cents...
Firstly, I doubt Blizzard will put another MMO when they still have WoW churning in money. It will eat into their own market if they release another MMO.
Second, I would not pay to play another WoW-like MMO. In fact, I won't even bother to read the reviews or anything since I do not support MMOs in general.
Lastly, I think Blizzard wants to tap onto the Single Player and BNet market. They still can make some form of money via BNet allowing in-game advertisement, etc...

Doesn't wotthereface have both Everquest (and it's numerous expansions) and Everquest II (and it's expansions), they are both pay to play, and they seem to be doing well.

That's not an issue, since Blizzard stated they will not make a WOW clone, knock off or mirrored version.
Oh and not all MMOs are pay to play, Guildwars for example. I think it's more you don't support P2P MMOs.

Do they now? There is what 7 planned expansions to WOW, we have two thus far counting WOTLK. And we have SCII (and probably an expansion too). SC although it does have a Single Player campaign is a highly addictive multiplayer game, go ask the Koreans.
And which series of theirs gets neglected, hmm I think it might be the one with the biggest Single Player mode.

You are right. My apologies if I sounded disapproving of MMOs but I really hate the P2P schemes. I would not mind a Guildwars type of MMO at a slightly higher retail price.

Agreed. The multiplayer and MMO market is greater than the singleplayer and Bnet ones. But do not forget that there are already plenty of MMOs out there and while Blizzard could make another MMO, it would certainly eat into their own WoW pie.

Again, I have to agree with you here. Money is a great motivating factor to churn out patches and continual support from the developers and publishers. That, I do not deny. Still, one can certainly hope that there would be some form of singleplayer element if Diablo 3 do get release.

Diablo III would have a single player mode, I can't see how you can make a sequel to a single player game not be single player. Not wihtout it being it's own series, or spin off type thing. WOW is technically Warcraft IV.

I wouldn't pay because I do not wanna play a MMO.
It takes too much time!
The fact is that there are people that their life is related to games and for others games are a hobby, sometime they wanna play a hour or 3 but not 6 hours if not 12 hours to complete a quest duh!
Most of the time if you wanna see all the things in a MMO you hate to play in a clan so that usually means playing with a schedule.
So I repeat no I wouldn't pay for any games (MMO) except the game itself
