they will touch on it yes, but its not a huge priority for them.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
i dont think blizzard will be focusing on guilds but they may well touch on it..
Given how much guild support there is in WoW, basically only being a chat window and a tabard, we can probably expect something in between nil and none for D3
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
Hey everyone, how many clans are out there and recruiting for D3?

I haven't fully investigated the situation for some time, but as best I can recall, the Silver Inferno Crusading Knights (SICK) is the only one.

Well I know there are a lot of private clans / guilds that would be playing Diablo 3. My WoW guild / TF2 clan / whatever other games we're playing will be playing D3 for sure. The likelihood of us recruiting people is pretty slim though - we're generally a tight nit group of family and friends.
What??? There already clans for diablo3 already?
It's not so much they are guild for Diablo3 primarily, more so they are an already established guild in another game, say WOW, with the intention of making a name for themselves in Diablo III or a Diablo MMO. Which ever is released first.

Yes that is indeed the point I am trying to get across.

If a guld is made specifically for Diablo III (or a Diablo MMO), what are they going to do until it is released? They can't play the game can they? They can hold up on a forum or two until it is released, but that is boring. They need to find out whether or not they even work as a guild. Are the members too egotistical to work as a unit?
Best way to do that is to play a game until Diablo III is released. As Diablo is Medieval Fantasy, and to a certain extent (and I know someone is going to take issue with this) RPG, I would think it best for the guild to play those sorts of games, at least primarily.
Playing a FPS like Doom or Counter Strike, won't help you that much in a 3rd person isometric RPG.
The Diablo series would no doubt be a good place to start. Then I would probably diverge into WOW, or maybe LOTRO. Or prehaps some good old computerised Dungeons and Dragons games like the Baldur's Gate series (For PC not console) or the Icewind Dale series.

I think this is what he meant?
When hes playing Counter-Strike he likes to shout "Headshot!" or "In the head!"
And he said in CS its not a guild, its called a clan

Correcting the term used doesn't really have anything to do with my point that playing a Futuristic or modern FPS will help you in little to no way in a Medieval fantasy Hack and Slash, or RPG.

Well when D3 is released I know some clans will likely call this page home, I just wanted to know if anyone was planning on marking their territory before the **** hits the fan.... if you know what i mean.

Considering SICK has it's own hosted forum here, I would say they have a strangle hold on that territory, and will no doubt rule it with an iron fist.

Guild rivalry is kind of annoying though. But its good if you're part of a good guild lol.
It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
