PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

Well, cell6man9 said the console was way too expensive. Then you quoted him and said, "Are you kidding me?" Then Thasador went on to say, "Must not have a job..." And so that was my response to what you guys were saying.
So, yeah, I guess I missed your point and I think I'm still missing your point. Are you saying the PS3 is indeed not expensive relative to the price of a gaming computer? Cause a gaming computer is still a computer that you can do lots of different things on.
People have said that since before Playstation 1. And it's yet to come true, and I don't think it will in any near future of ours.
Yeah, and one thing I've learned over time in regards to PC gamers is not to underestimate their love of mods. This is a considerable factor that helps keep PC gaming going strong.

I already said, it makes more sense to buy a Mac or some other cheap computer for non-gaming purposes, and buy a PS3/XBOX/Wii for the gaming purposes. And that is what most people have in their household.

doesnt matter if a ps3 is cheaper then a pc, what matters is that its a damn expensive console. common 600 euros? i can have a computer that runs all the current games on high settings and a very smooth framerate for double the price of that thing.
I don't get your point, what, a console should be extensively cheaper? It's already cheaper, anyway, because it is specifically designed for one purpose.

in that respect the 360 is more logical in my mind (i have a 360 btw), it is a console made for playing games and thats what a console should be for.
Jeez, stop talking to me as though I'm saying "PS3" in particular. I said PS/XBOX/Wii, I really don't care which one is it, just that a console is cheaper than a gaming comp.
its not even that much cheaper, i boght a comp for $900 cdn and it runs all the games i play like bf2142, agoe of empires3 and counterstrike really smothly, it may not have the best graphics card but its good enough. and considering its only 250$ more then a ps3, i would say getting a comp is a better value.
I think your looking more at the price tag other than value. And considering that, ps3 is expenisive. but the wii and 360 are better priced then ps3 so i would call them cheap compared to a gaming pc
i never understood this, how isnt d2 an mmorpg. What makes d2 so different from guild wars, the only difference i notice is the camera view is different and how in town theres more ppl.
as Phrozen said before me, only part there is in an MMORPG is the multiplayer aspect. Diablo (the whole series) was a singleplayer game with an integrated coop modus and a (primitive) pvp mode aswell. Playing with 8 people i dont consider "massive" either. And Guild Wars isnt the typical kind of MMO either. Mainly instanced, possible to get bots as party members and u get to actually see people mainly in town. Try DaoC, Everquest 2, WoW and u'll get to see how a real MMORPG looks like. Running in the wild with mobs about to kill u and then u get a big heal from someone u never seen before (its like "wtf i live!" and then getting help to kill the enemies. Its in the daily routine. Meeting around with people, grouping and helping, making way more friends in the process.
guild housing would be completely useless for a game like Diablo btw (since its no MMO and u cant actually meet all the people u play with in-game except if u play with like 10-15 people total). Guilds are only usefull in MMORPGs since grouping and working together in there is crucial for the progress in game. Theres no chance to "solo" everything if ur not in a private hacked server (Unlike every Diablo or Diablo-like game).
o, ok, i was comparring it more to guild wars because in guildwars u can only have a certain limit of ppl helping you with quests, and random ppl dont come out of nowhere and heal u. I never played wow or those other ones.
but i think i still will still see diablo as an mmorpg
i payed $800 for my computer 1 gig of ram, amd 64 3400, radeon 9550 256mb graphics card, and its 2 years old now, or so it runs every game fine $600 for a console is a bit on the expensive side... its not all in how much money you have its how much you want to spend that makes stuff expensive... even with a job thats a little much for me to spend right now, i may wait till it comes down in price a bit

If you ever meet a hafling and a hungry dragon you dont have to outrun the dragon, you only have to outrun the hafling.

"Every game fine" for me is Oblivion, FarCry, F.E.A.R., Quake III running smoothly at max at the moment of purchase. And with 1 gig of ram, you'll hardly be able to run G3 "fine"...
but i got a last arguement about Equinox's last post:

in most if not all cases, computer games have WAY better graphics at max than the console versions. So technically ur able to run the game in a way at least equal (quality-wise) to the consoles with way less graphical glamour and ofc way lower requirements. And the upgrades are cheaper. My last computer kept me going for 4 years without any upgrades. At the time i got a new one it played most current games on mid settings, so thats not that bad since the average time of a new console is around 4 years and the games are way more expensive (not considering the illegal downloading).
now if you still want to keep this "console to pc war" please make another thread since its irrelevant with the original post of this thread.
