What if we got the chance to create our character of any class and then modify its body parts, hair, looks etc and even the clothes. We could change the entire appearance of our character so that it would be unique.
Would you like if this was included in Diablo 3 the game?
[I know it would be difficult to add this feature in-game but just asking for opinions]

its a cool concept, but its pretty pointless. it doesnt matter to me, as long as the armor and items i am wearing make a little difference like in d2. in games where u can customize your char i usually just try to make my guy look so stupid so that when you dominate ppl they feel like losers

Well if it's done right then you should be able to tell them by the body. I mean if you can't tell the difference between a sorceress and a druid, you need your eyes checked.
Eh it doesnt matter to me either. In a way, imo, it wouldnt feel like the old diablo I love and cherish but it might be a nice change. Either way I just want it and dont really have a preferance. And cant you do this in WoW?(and a ton of other games) I dont want them to copy their character creation from WoW into diablo, that is if you can customize your characters in WoW.

I was personally thinking less along the lines of character creation and more of clothes and whatnot. It's already somewhat in Diablo 2, but what if it was done to a greater extent?

I dont think this just means clothes. And i dont see how you can do this in d2, every "good" paladin looks the same as the other. Just about every hammerdin in d2 looks identical to others. But in d3 i took it as Zubin meaning you can customize your facial hair, how tall you are, "looks." Clothes will probably be a whole seperate thing in d3, like vendors who just sell cothes, of course im speculating.

Oh. I was just talking clothes. Kinda like how Link has his green tunic over his chain mail in Twilight Princess. And make things like boots and gloves and necklaces and belts all visible. As it is all you see is the body armour and the helmet. (Which sucks.)
Layering would be cool as well for clothes, like you said with Link, a tunic over chain mail. Many cool variations could result from customization where many games have seemingly been going towards lately.

"I'm like a dog chasing cars." - Joker, Dark Knight
I like the idea, being able to choose skin tone, hair colour, facial hair, body size/type while add more variety, and make characters look less alike. But of course with a view point like Diablo II, customizing your characters face seems somewhat pointless no matter how fun it is, you can barely see their face.
But body size/type, you will notice that. Why couldn't a mage do some wieghts training and buff up.
Though it would be nice to somehow in the game see the "paperdoll" of your character. Then you would see the fruits of your customization labour.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.

Got the same thing in WoW. People spend hours making just the right character then hit 60 or 70 and you never see what they really look like under all the armour.
That's why I would like a basic body type with customizable clothes and armour.
I don't really want it because too much customization will take so long and I kind of just like playing, rather then spending my time looking at what hair would be best.
I love customisation. Its why I play RPGs, to make a unique character that looks cool. I always choose things based on their looks. I often go without weapons, and always without a helmet (except those tiara things are handy for being invisible).
All I really hope for is a freaking properly done cloak & hood!! There isn't a game I know of that has them properly done. They always make them look like capes
Thieves wear hoods in Baldur's Gate II. But that is only thieves.

I got this idea when i was playing AQ. I suddenly thought that if this [low grade] game can have customization why not diablo. [on a better level though]
Its always fun to look different than the others. [and better]

but you also have to think how far blizzard can go with a customization. i mean like linkx said. you could have a tunic ove rsome chain mail. that tunic during gameplay could get ripped by swords. and torn to peices. your breast plate could be seen dented to show some durability. your gloves could look like your fingers are going through them. so ya there are many thing blizzard can do. but i think if you could have some different char sizes and skin color (depending on what class you are) and even hair color, would even be good to have.

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
