They need to also reduce bunnies, rainbows, lushful trees.... those are what causes the Biggest problem, making Diablo 3 look like a Kids game, rather than a Mature Horror game.
I don't know, I think it would be great to keep them. Just, when the monsters come bursting out of the ground, they set ablaze the ground and the tree's become incinerated and the bunnies get squashed.. don't know about the rainbow though, maybe they should get rid of that.
Soooo... let's do the math: "change it" - 31119 signings
"keep it" - 836 + 971 =1807 signings
Basically for everyone that wants to keep the art direction as-is, there are more than 17 who want the diablo feeling back. Considering most "keep it"-people will have singed both petitions, the ratio is even much higher.
The rest has not discovered the petitions (is this even possible?) or doesn't care or is just too lazy to sign resp. doesn't see any point in it.
So potentially the numbers on each side will be higher by an unknown factor. So your initial statement should translate to: "Blizzard has to decide on turning away 1*x or 17*x customers."
Which option would you choose?
What i (and many others) want from blizzard, is just that they consider some mostly subtle changes, which is thank god still possible without causing any significant delays (so much for the "you've only seen 20 minutes, wait till it's out"-argument). They propably will listen, and pro and contra will meet somewhere in the middle. And i'd be happy with it, as will all the other players.
Problem is there is no point to sign a petition to keep things the same... The whole point of a petition is to change things. So you would have to include the whole population of people who have seen the gameplay videos / new color scheme, and include them in the "keep the things the same" side of the argument.

strange apothecary souls have turned it into an ill-tasting drop of poison that makes the whole of life repulsive." -Nietzsche
WHAT PART OF "IT'S NOT ABOUT COLOR AT ALL" do you guys still NOT Comprehend?
FOR THE 100^1 Trillionth TIME, It's about the FEEL/ATMOSPHERE *GAME is NOT SCARY/EERIE ENOUGH!* that is the ISSUE!

How much of the game have you played to be able to really say that? Stop acting like you own the game.
I suppose the world, with its rainbows, lush vegetation and sunny skies is a 'kids world', too, despite all the crime and terrorism eh? Grow up.
Go play Clive Barker's Jericho and the Revenge of the 5th Brown Castle and then tell me how much fun "mature horror game" is.
I think the developers are making good use of contrast, if they can really make an environment unsettling through colour, I welcome almost any sort of environment they can use to get the most out of that emotion. We've only seen two settings so far, and I think it will be easier for people to appreciate the dark, more unsettling environments with the use of some pleasant places. How could you ever appreciate a rainy day if that's all you ever had? I think the outdoor "nice" environments will be gratifying to an extent. However, I do with the they would sharpen the textures a bit.
'Colors' is good, but it's really ALL about the Atmosphere that will creep you out!
A place can be as colorful as it can be, but still NEED to put fear in you when you play, that's THE POINT.
Thus, Rainbow/Bunnies/Lushful Trees ruins the whole 'Eerie' atmosphere and Doesn't belong!!!
That would be almost perfect!

Hellforge: Forging a passion for video games.
That arguement is USELESS, until Blizzard shows us more what the game looks like, if in fact they are darker/better than the 20 minute demo we seen.
When they going to show us the darker areas? Or, are there even any, really?
