I'm really not one of those people who care about how graphics look at all - I'm all for gameplay, but if D3 really looked like that, I would have to buy the game, poop on it and set it on fire.
Nothing other than the fact that the red health globe has a fucking green tint on it!!!

I believe the Diablo team will make the best game of the year when it is released despite the color discussions at this early stage of the first released gameplay footage
Not really. GOM Player doesn't let me capture the overlay material and apparently I have no other way to open this M4V. But how about you use your eyes? Btw, I edited my post.
Whatever. To me it looks like it's made brighter, more washed out, and greener. Maybe it's how my gfx card settings for video overlay affect the GOM player.
But the point remains is that edited parts look like shit.
Umm, yeah i still prefer more color. But some people also need to understand they probably make it darker as you progress through nightmare and hell if they have that. Either way that would definitely get boring fast.
sorry i havent read all the above posts and it may have been said already
this video shows exactly what Blizzard said. The enemies dont stand out of the environment. Especially the ghouls, but most of the others didnt stand out much either. The architecture is barely visible too.
I'm very glad Blizzard took the decision they did.
sidenote:
editing a video is much easier than editing a game engine.
I don't see how this ends the artwork controversy. Either way, with color or blandness, you're biased. There isn't any law saying that someone's wrong if they prefer something else. The only thing this did was re-awaken this pointless argument.

But i can agree with some of you. This is too colorless.I like the lightning but there must be more colour.I don't mean the green or blue light coming from nowhere.
I looked at the video again, and I saw absolutely no green tint.
Me neither. I downloaded the full video and the globes have an orange glow around them during the 'green' sections.
I like it. I think he's done a great job with it. Especially things like the glowing skelly shields and the battle with Thousand Pounder seem alot better. There's more intensity in the lights, which could have their glows inhanced if the design was based on this.
I like the light radus from the character guiding you... the unknown lurks in the shadows. It could be effective for day/night cycles. Hopefully Blizzard will provide some flexibility in the video options. I dislike the green hue. Alot. But no doubt the game will turn out great overall regardless.

Also, I wonder how he would 'desaturate the green' from THIS dungeon...

Fuck you, I'm a dragon.
F'ing beautiful. Gameplay is very playable, and shows bliz's excuse to be the crap it is.
Reminds me very much of the catacombs of d21, or the cathedrals and temples in d2; some of my favorite areas in the original games.
~not going to buy a wow-ish diablo 3~

True, but this has nothing to do with the game engine.
It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
