Since they had a playable demo for Blizzcon '08 whay can't we download that demo or something?...I can only watch those videos and look at screenshots/conc art and read lore so much.
I hate waiting...
I just need some tiny little fragment of the the game that I can toy with until it comes out!!!
Why no demo??

I actually agree a little bit ... I wish they'd release the Blizzcon demo.
If I remember correctly when it comes to blizzard games, the demo will be released after the full game

The coolest thing ever was when Arena.net let everyone in the world play Guild Wars in the E3 for Everyone event, a couple years before release.
Now what's cruel is Blizzard had the audacity to even announce the game. What the hell am I going to do for the next two years - constantly replay the WWI vid and pitifully pretend to play along with it with my mouse like some little kid with no money at an arcade in the 80's?
That just stinks. If 100 people or however many at BlizzCon actually played it, then why couldn't they release that small bit of the game for everyone....I'd pay for it for sure.

They wouldn't release a demo due to bad perception. People can't handle something that doesn't work perfectly. *ahem*
I suggest you forget about Diablo and move on and come back to it two years later.
Would be nice to be able to play that but i would bet we will all have to wait till it is done. But I think we will be able to tell alot more about the release date when sc2 comes out along with the new bnet and when they have a next major event. I believe their is one coming up in March. So maybe then they will anounce those two things along with next character class and hopefully threw interviews we might be able to see how far along they are. Zuggamming reported beta early 09 but i do not see that happening maybe if we are lucky summer 09 lets hope
They probably know as well as we do (if we're honest with ourselves) that the Diablo fanbase is among the most ravenous, ill-tempered people on the planet, and if we don't get exactly what we want, or even see a hint that something isn't the way we expect it, we pop up threads like those that have been for years. First it was resentment towards Blizzard for no news for eight years, then it was not being satisfied with the color, and now it's impatience over a demo. Let me ask you, if anyone did get a demo here, and there were features by the masses we didn't enjoy, broken systems, unpolished graphics, glitched skills, and so on, wouldn't we see a fresh new wave of "OMGz0rs teh BlizzZrd iz Teh suckz0rz"?
It's no wonder they're hesitant to release news or anything, because people always jump the gun.
I'd love a demo as much as the next lazy computer geek, but, in all honesty and reality, it would not be healthy for the Diablo fanbase until Blizzard is absolutely sure that the isolated part of the game they're sharing with us is as perfect as perfect can be, or hell will be raised, most of it illegitament, because people will forget it's just a demo. Or they won't care and just want something to complain about.
I mean, honestly, do any of you even remember half of the threads here, let along on the whole internet, about all the secret messages in the 8-year-old concept art, the hidden phrases in character speech files, or the hidden messages in teasers for SCII? It's really no wonder they don't release anything. The Diablo fanbase is like Gollum on steroids.
Don't get me wrong, the zealotry many of us have for our beloved series is probably what keeps it fun and involving for most of us for so long. But I don't know about this. I don't agree.
(I'm probably going to want to edit this post later. Oh well, I probably won't be able to.)
I personally would not care if there were glitches or whatever. I haven't complained about anything I've seen thus far relating o Diablo 3 because nothing is set in stone. They are going to tweak and drop and add all sorts of things. But I really like hate I have seen and I just want to enjoy that, rather than watch/ hear about other people enjoying it.
I would take it for what it is. A demo. Just cause it isn't perfect doesn't mean I'm gonna get pissed and hate on Blizzard. It's a demo, not the full game, only an idiot would whine and complain about a demo of early developement. It justs saddens me to realize that this game isn't going to come out until after SC2 which doesn't even have a release date, and when it does have a release date it'll be later than that actual release date....then we'll have to wait for the D3 release date, and then that'll get pushed back(probably).
I'm not hating I just think I would have been better off being in the dark about the whole thing, until like 6months before the release...
I love Blizzard!!!! (But I'd love em even more if I had a demo )

I was really just talking about the vast majority of the fanbase, not about anyone in this thread in particular. However, that is my opinion and I'm sticking to it. Sorry if any of that in any way offended you, or anyone else, for that matter, but that's what I've observed for years, and it's also what I firmly believe.
No, it's cool I definitley understand. Sometimes I just forget that not everyone is like me/ most of the big Diablo fans. You're correct that most people would forget it's a rough demo and get sandy vaginas about glitches or whatever...
No offense taken at all!

Completely opposite opinion here, not that you care...
Blizzard has always been about quality over time. I hope Blizzard takes as long as they want to develop the game as long as that time is used to make the game amazing, not for nerf battles...
Blizzard always had a high quality, incredibly amazing standard that made their games stand apart, no bugs, no glitches, no problems. Just highly polished gameplay with brilliant cinematics and hours of joy every night of play...
With activisions merger, things may be a bit faster, but, I still hope Blizzard takes as long as they want on their games (Except expansions, those really need to be released as fast as possible, especially with how big the World of Warcraft team is and how much bank they're making now)

It's not really the neckbeards with aspergers who don't know how to use a gamma and contrast slider they're concerned about. It's just common sense - demos are the best form of advertising, and it makes no sense to blow it during a time it won't maximize profit.

The thing that stings me most is that Blizzard made the promise that their future games would have their announcement and release dates much closer together then what was traditionally the case with previous Blizzard games.
Haha I remember that, and remember thinking "what an assholish lie."
I find it hard to believe you don't realize the few glitches Blizzard games have in comparison to the rest of the market that releases mainly shoddy games. Look up any game you like and its glitch reports.
Also, I find it funny you didn't notice Blizzard references it's own glitch-free history with one of their units in Warcraft 3, The Nerubian Cryptlord, Anub'Arak...
