During the original Barbarian footage around 9:15 I noticed something in the upper left part of the screen in the background. Check it out. Nothing new, but I thought it was a neat little tid-bit.
If you watched the HD version, there's no way you would have missed it. You can clearly see him and hear him creeping in the background.
The interesting part is that he is not really a boss, or even a mini-boss. He is a regular rare Unique monster, that is a part of a random event which can happen anywhere (where it makes sense). That probably means that dungeons will dynamically change to provide hints through scripted events so that you know what awaits you further, if random events such as these are actually rolled as soon as you enter the dungeon.

source?
and ya that would be cool if it was random but i really doubt something that big would be random as it seemed to be part of a quest especially as it interacted with the environment quite a bit (it appeared to open up a pathway for your character to go through after defeating it). that would be bloody awesome though if it was random. if you have a source to back up your statement though it would help.
anyways, do you think you could provide me with a link to the hd video that i could download? thanks m8
Num3n, I don't keep the source to everything I say right up in my ass. Just trust me, or search the news for yourself. Everything I learned about D3 comes from the updates I got from this very site.

yeah this is very old news but the way that you stated it that.. i guess i just never picked up on before is very nice. "hints" that a random event will be occuring coming up is a nice touch. who knows if it will be with all or just some of them, the hints that is. oh and wasnt there other hints too? like bookcase walls smashed from behind or the bridge that gets ruined by the falling ceiling. i dont know im not investigating anything, it would be pointless.
I was just posting in case someone else hadn't seen it. I just noticed it and I've watched the video many times. Just thought maybe someone out there didn't notice and would appreciate the heads up.
Sorry if this is old news....

I want to watch it more, it just every time I do watch it, I become so excited I can't sleep that night. Diablo 3 is huge for me, so I am trying to block away any thought of playing it, until that is, the release date is announced. (but even when that happens I'll still be skeptical.) heh.

Actually, he is a mini-boss, not a regular rare Unique monster. In the interview you're thinking of, Jay says that the Gluttony Incarnate mini-boss is actually a regularly occurring monster in Act 2 and that the Siege Engine is just a mini-boss and not a boss at all.
I just hope I managed to catch that in time that not everyone's told their friends how that's a regular monster and how you're going to fight 6 at once and how the major bosses are going to be bigger than your entire screen. Fable 2 was overhyped by the fans in that way and now a lot of people are pissed at Lionhead.
