Thats the best I could do with the german to english translator. Some words could not translate. Many thanks to Dauroth for providing such a clear image!
He should link his opening post to the thread that this started...its the diablo site confusion thread. Anyways I brought up that there was writing on the frame of the d3 logo on the last page of cains journal, and then Dauroth did some research and has blown up the pic that you see at the top of this page.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
"Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. That we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves. Here's Tom with the weather."
Let's start putting the big picture together. There are 19 levels including the outside and the core. Let's number them 1 being outside and 19 being the core. If we follow the lines from the top most circle to the left this is the sequence of levels that it follows:
11223345678
Then it goes back to 1. 8 is angry and damned souls. Let's assume that the lines are pathways to other realms. Let us also assume that angry and damned souls is the outer most layer of hell. That would mean the only way into hell is through angry and damned souls. That reminds me of act 4 a lot. So what does the outermost layer represent? It seems to me that the outermost layer is separated by stars for a reason. Perhaps signifying heaven. Then the the realms below must be sanctuary. I'm thinking this is a map of the diablo universe.
@dauroth I don't think they will merge since the topics are different.
No Ferret has yet to reply but as soon as he does I will post what he has to say.

and remember in diablo sin wars trilogy. when trag oul tried to get invovled. and some other worlds stopped him? maybe that has something to do with it? like in diablo 1 you had map of the stars? maybe this is the same thing?
The people of Sanctuary have the potential to be more powerful than both angel and demon.
You know what, I think you guys are right. You're definitely on to something here, whether it be a map of the universe, or some other system (note the word 'SYSTEMA'). I think its some sort of spiritual/metaphysical universe that represents the powers at play. It doesn't seem to be an actual physical universe because there are no star constellations. It'd be much easier if we could get a full translation of the whole thing. Luckily its in German too, cause if it was in Latin we'd have no hope. Maybe thats why its in German, Blizzard wants us to figure it out?
That concept of God is very interesting too. I think it fits well with in the Diablo universe. It could also have something to do with that huge stockpile of 'creation' that the angels seem to have.
I just hope that this gets explained in the game or manual somehow, I don't like mysteries being left as mysteries.
Also, notice when you look at the original image from Cain's Journal, (http://www.blizzard.com/diablo3/world/lore/journal.xml) there is III scratched into the image, as well as a person. If you look very closely, there appears to be a person standing in the center.
To me....., the background behind, in which you can see this person, appears to be a mirror image, of the beautiful drawing that sits beside it on the page to the left. It is very tough to tell, but the colors match.... and if you line it up, level with the man, he would be standing, roughly right at the top of that beautiful castle.
I don't know what that has to do with anything though. Maybe that person is you.
Possibly it is a release date puzzle?!?
Although I do not comprehend how even Blizzard could know when D3 would be released at that point, (when Cain's journal was created) but I am sure that even if they admit; "we don't know when it will be done we are taking our time to make it the best it can be" there is always the possibly that they have a hidden release date that is top secret. If there is one fact that is, if anyone could possibly know, it would be them.

@Num3n It's from the final page of cains journal.
You know where it says No.53? I looked on page 53 of birthright and it is the page where Uldyssians powers truly manifest for the first time. . .
