Guess I'll throw my hat in. Doesn't really matter what graphics card you go with; more of a preference really as long as it can run the game. I am a long time ATI fan and almost switched to NVIDIA but ran out of money to finish my system a few years back. Now with money and the new ATI 4800 series I got a 1GB 4870. Anyways, if you're real concerned about it you can always look up ATI (insert card) vs NVIDIA (insert card). I think right now though the NVIDIA 980 (?) beats out the best ATI (4870x2).
What's the best port graphics card out there right now?
Well whatever the new NVIDIA is (980 I'm pretty sure). It even beats the 4870x2. Honestly though I think it's splitting hairs. I mean I'm not sure on this, but isn't 24fps the most the eye can notice and anything beyond that is, well, just a number? So can't really see the point in running a game at 144fps or something ridiculous like that.
I think getting Radeon 4850 or 4830 with 512MB Graphics memory with a decent processor and 2 GB RAM alongwith Winodws XP as OS is pretty decent to run D3 (Hopefully)!!!
Because with the 4850 in my machine i can run Crysis Warehead at Gamer details at a resolution of 1280 X 960 with 2X anti alising and the game runs pretty smooth.
