Hydra screams Titan Quest for me. But back on topic, they could always change these anyway, so i wouldnt really get attached so to speak on anything about D3 until its released
Whaat? You said in Diablo II, where are these runes in Diablo II? The only runes I remmember are the three-or-two-lettered one - like El,Eld,Tir,Nef,Eth,Ith,Tal,Ral,Ort,Thul,Amn,Sol,Shael,Dol,Hel,Io,Lum,Ko,Fal,Lem,Pul,Um,Mal,Ist,Gul,Vex,Ohm,Lo,Sur,Ber,Jah,Cham,Zod.
Where are these other runes? What is there usage?
Holy crap, read before you post. He said nothing about rune abilities just the terms 'power' and 'multi-strike' are in Diablo II and that they were used on the Diablo III runes when they first showed them and now that they changed the names, he prefers the original ones.
I prefer the old D2 names.
This kind of stuff may seen complicated for begnniers, but sooner or later people learn to deal with hard names. Specially because we will have like 7~9 runes? I will surely miss old d2 names =/
I like the new names. Never did like those names that contained like just 2-3 letters.
I loved the old names. I always considered them letters, and when you spelled the right word, it was like saying the right spell, and it manifested energy into the weapon.

Hydra screams DII sorceress spell in my head.
Viper makes me think of snakes and fast attacks...
Yeah, I think the exact same thing.
Hydra of course, is perfect for replacing Multistrike. Since a Hydra has multiple heads, it strikes multiple times.
I enjoyed Lethality as a word for the rune, but Viper is easier to say and type without losing the awesomeness. As for venomous snakes, yeah, I'd say their fairly lethal

I'd prefer new names. Ones which are unique like the El, Zod type runes.
Although it isnt as practical, it fits into the world of Sanctuary better
Yeah, and they don't tell us which one is which, so we gotta figure it out like when runewords first came out lol. I like it!
What the hell does a "Gerblat" rune do???
And I wonder if there will be a way to combine runes, so you have a Multi-Lethality rune O.O Maybe that's too powerful lol.
