When you kill something in diablo 3 you are the only one allowed to pick up the items and the items appear on your screen only. Group play.

They said that the loot would be shared. Technically, I thought it was like an individual roll for items per player, and you get to pick that and that only. That or randomly "roll" and assign items to one of the member of the group. It doesn't really matter how exactly, but I thought it was obvious that everyone get their share of the loot automatically, not "the one that kills it gets it".
But this would fuck up the supportive characters. I know no character in Diablo is truly supportive, but still. There's more to focus on than only doing damage that can help the team.
.
well theres no healers in d3. what would you be doing if not killing guys? im not trying to say your wrong, but what would you see other players doing?:confused::confused:
I played diablo 3 at blizzcon. When a monster dies, items drop for all players and you only see what loot available to you. Nobody else sees your drops.
Bashiok had a post talking about how players only see the loot for them but I can't remember what else he typed. A good solution against auto-pickit! I wonder how much loot drops for each person? Normal loot drop for 1 boss split so many ways or if each character will see loot drop as if they killed it solo. My guess is the former haha
Wait! I'm still not understanding how this works exactly!
Does the loot from each monster drop and replicate itself for every character on the party/game to pick up individually, or is the loot randomized to only appear on a certain player's screen?

every player in party, present while the monster dies gets a separate loot, is random, people don't get the same stuff. So basically loot drops for each player, and only that player can pick it up.
I.E.
I kill Diablo and he drops you a Shako and he drops me a HoZ, only you can see the Shako, I cant see it cause is your drop, and you are the only person that can pick it up. Same would apply to my HoZ, I'm the only one that can see it and pick it up.
Ahh ok thanks. That's a better system than what I feared this idea was about
But really, even though my dial-up and pentium II computer back in the days of D2 was inadequate to ever catch a unique in a full game (and yes this would piss me off to the point that I wouldnt even try), I always felt that was an essential part of such a game.
However, other than that, you wont hear me complaining about implementing this system
Or play Guildwars and see what it's like. Btw it's flawless in Guild Wars and there's no reason to suspect it'll be any different in Diablo 3.
I'm a big fan of guild wars, but meh. I liked the Diablo mad-clicking. I just think it better suits the gameplay.
Then again, I always ended up getting a ton of cool stuff, and people would yell at me for my ninja-click skills. So perhaps something like this that's a bit more fair is a good idea.

couldn't resist either
It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
The world may never know...

Why? We always had rules in our LAN or private friendly games.
