I was watching this video and at 2:40 or so i was like "woah what the fuck is going on". Maybe they should calm themselves a little on the huge effects and everthing... Or maybe it's just me.
I say at 2:40 but there are a couple more times where it becomes way too much where you can't even see your character anymore.
Yesterday i noticed that... they shake the screen too much... I mean, in d2 it happened only when diablo came or something... here its happening every time u cast a spell... Im sure they will fix it.
AS for effects like explosions... yea its a little too much i think....
These are not reasons that will make me not play the game though....
Blizzard has mentioned that they want a very powerful feel to the effects, yet at the same time they mention that they do not want an effects overload to prevent gameplay. At this point they are very big on making awesome looking moves, tons of explosions, etc. In the end however, I think they will tone it down just a notch or two to make sure you know whats going on among the madness.

There are no stupid questions, just a bunch of inquisitive idiots.
Don't be naive. It's a blizzard game and they do a great job with scaling graphics and effects. I guarantee you will be able to turn off most of the pizazz in the graphics menu.

And i guess people are ready to accept anything who's thrown at them like good little sheeps.
It's an ARPG the action is suppose to feel choatic and satisfying. Thats where all the fancy visuals come in. It has nothing to do with people accepting anything that's thrown at them. If you can't keep up with the speed of the game there's always Solitaire for yah.
I agree. At some times during the monk gameplay vid I couldn't even tell what was going on. Somewhere they did mention a spell detail toggle. Hopefully they will let's s chooses our happy medium

With lots of enemies and multiple players on screen, it gets that way. I felt that way with Diablo II, too.. but never when I was the one playing. When you're actually playing somehow the effects never get near as distracting, and I can always tell what's going on.
I agree that sometimes it just looks like a special-effects disaster in the diablo III videos, I think it'll be fine when we're actually playing it.

Yeah i noticed the screen shaking too, really annoying...
I also agree. I think your eyes will probably get tired pretty quickly in a multiplayer game. I dont dislike all the effects, i think they are pretty cool in fact. But i just hope there is a pace in the game so that you dont have the flashy moves and exploding corpses and ground trembling all the time.
Don't be like that. The guy has a perfectly valid question. I myself have thought there are too many effects as well. To many swirls and light tracers.
I think the effects are amazing, not only the visual part but also the audio. And yeah, don't you remember Baal runs with the meteor sorc, the summoner, blizzard sorc, hammer-din and trapsin?? If that wasn't a clusterfuck in comparison to this, which planet do you live on??

personally i think it looks great
but in your case, and for those in the same boat, im sure you will be able to turn down spell effects in the video options like in other games

Stay awhile, and listen.

It'd suck to swing a sword and kill it and not have known that you did anything.
