I suppose we are going to wait another year for the last class to be revealed so I think the moon has nothing to do with the last class, it's way too soon for it. Note that the character selection page has been remodeled so I guess is part of the new background.

he is still a Diablo character and there is no word form developers that Druid won't be returning.
if people want to hope that the Druid returns it is their right to do so, unless someone form the development team comes out and says flatout that druid won't return there is always the chance that it will

Actually, they DID say that. They explicitly stated that the only returning class would be the Barbarian. They made the disclaimer though that in the expansion, D2 characters may return.
