Anyone feel like being able to customize the appearance of your weapon/shield/armor would be a sick idea?? I thought that would be really cool, and the only way we were able to do it in d2 was through jamella and other similar programs. Maybe even being able to change the attributes of the item could add a new dimension to the game, provided blizzard manages to implement a system with limitations, in the sense that you cant add 10k lightning damage, etc.
Yea that does sound cool, but to me its one of those things that i can live without. Now if we could customize the colors on items that would be cool, cmon who wouldent want a barb in red and black.

ooo, this brings around another idea. What about blacksmith recipes? So you don't always have to buy items using gold, or maybe not all items are sold using gold, and you have to collect these small parts to make these special items, kinda like the flail with the horadric cube, and maybe for the same item there's a few ways to go about it, which changes look and stats/function

I'm not agree, I think totally the opposite !! I don't care of color it's superficial (feature for children) It's better to have choice of what your equipment will do ! so you will be able to provide a strategy, skill/equipment/stats.
I just don't care of art/look customization, it's bring nothing to gameplay.
That doesn't make it a "feature for children". Art look and customization is a big part of any game and what a lot of people enjoy and like. Calling it something for kids is just dumb non-sense.

I know it's funny, but only for a moment, after a year, people will don't care about that, the only thing that will still after all is the core of the game / gameplay. I don't play diablo to customize a Sims with beautiful arrangement of colors !!

Nicely better.

Yes, because no one wants to have the ability to customize things in the game. I mean look at all the mods that don't exist for diablo 2.

Being able to customize items in the game adds more depth. It makes you feel like you really own the items and that they are unique to your character. It still doesn't really matter, its just something extra to add to the game. You probably wouldn't notice most of the time anyway whilst smashing through armies of demons.

I want to be able to customize items too. Yes it's bring more depth in game. I want to be able to choose what power put in a items (this kind of customization) but I don't want choose what color my weapon will have. If I put cold damage in my weapon, I want see it in blue not in red. When I see someone with blue sword I will provide some cold resist for duel but if the people choose the color they want, I'll cannot provide anything.
I know that when you add cold, fire, or lightning damage to your weapons you can see those elements emanating from them, but I also think it would be rather cool if the general appearance of the item changed depending on the kind of rune or gem that you socketed into the item, thus automatically causing a level of visual customization that you could achieve with out creating a complicated system of making those kinds of visual modifications to your items/ weapons. I suggest this without taking into consideration the amount of development needed to add this to the game. Then again as an avid diablo fan I'd like to see blizzard make this game all that much better anyways.

I agree, it would be cool if appearance change depending of what you put in socket. When you said "general appearance" I hope the sword will still a sword. I disagree to have a customization completely free.
Battle not with monsters lest you become one.
