So I know having dialogue options in a game like Diablo is a long shot but I think I could see how Blizzard could iterate them. What is your guys opinion on dialogue options in Diablo 3? I personally think it could work quite well and open doors for other things, like how certain factions view you based on how you communicate with them.
Get outta the place, Party! Quick! Run for you life, mate.
There's all those people right behind me with their pitchforks and torches blazing because of that post.
On a more serious note, I just want a crapload of randomized quests really with nice bits and pieces touching on the actual story in D3 and the general lore around.
That I feel would be more suitable for diablo.
I for one do not care for dialogue options. The reason I do not like them is because I always wonder what will happen if I said the other option. I spend hours just going back to see what the responses are. While this may increase replayability, I really only do it to satisfy my own curiosity and it doesn't really add anything to the actual game. I like what they have right now with the fade in/out of the dialogue as well as unique dialogue based on what character you are playing. To me, this is enough.

I do the same but I enjoy it.
But its just not part of this game. I expect (and care) about dialogues and options when I play an RPG vaguely based around it, such as Mass Effect, -not- in a game like D3.

4) Why are so relevant to the story anyway? All you do is say the same thing, identify items which I do by myself most of the time anyway, and you also state the obvious. Why do you always follow me? Why are you incapable of saying another line? God dammit... *Smoke*

It could be something simple, like what type of mercenary you hire, merc 1 dialog option @#$$ off, merc 2, option, your hired, or whatever, but not that important
Having side quests to choose to do, or ignore will be enough, and will be a lot considering you didnt have much of those types of options in D2.
I hope they have
1: Some really easy side quests that arent too much of a pain, that you can do quickly
2: Really difficult, epic side quests that give GOOD rewards.
That's why I love the system they have in place now where if you stand next to the person who hear the dialogue but if you walk away the dialogue fades out. That way they can tell a story to those who want to hear it and for those who don't, they can skip it easily.

In my opnion dialogs should be elaborated, but not something the player must invest time unto.
It would just slow down and take you out of the core.
Not only this, it was said but I wanted to say it agin I dont have the source (lazy). They said that it takes you away from the action and thats not diablo, thats why they are impliminting new systems like (no tp/ slow cooldown like tp). They want you in the action hacking and slashing.

People just don't get what a diablo game is about anymore... I think it would be a useless feature since it wouldn't add anything to the game except waste your time with dialogues. There is no factions either btw.

I do the same thing, i even load the game to see what rewards are best. :/
Get real, folks, the diablo you all knew is dead, a few years ago i said right here in this forum that D3 had a pretty good chance of being blizzard first bust (i was flamed to death ofc), and what you know, its not even beta and its already looking that way.
There's little in Diablo to support dialogue options. It will be hard for them to make a difference, and if so no need adding something that won't really matter.
I don't want dialog options unless it involves an awkward, and ultimately disappointing, digital freak session with an oversexed blond NPC whose hair looks like a helmet because it's polygons, not hair. Christ, what a creepy post.
