This thread primarily focuse on the other sides/angles of the creative aspects that could be add in to Diablo 3. I'm perfectly content with the works from the develop team. But since there's really nothing we can do, other than read new info and discuss it. I perhaps would like to introduce some other angles for the same exact cursor mechanics but with other aspects its potential would allow.
A week ago, I'd pitched in dozens of ideas into @Diablo at twitter. And one of them is a renaissance of an old skill from D2's Druide, Hurricane.
What the hurricane does is it wrap your character in a full screen sized hurricane, in a much interesting way to put it: You can chase down your enemy with your vision. I think there're more depth waiting to be add in to this skill. Furthermore, there could be more exploitable uses for diablo's cursor base attack.
So the purpose that I created this thread is for people who doesn't mind pitching in their ideas (and they could perhaps leads to something that has a sophisticated purpose ingame), but perhaps setting up a twitter account to message Blizzard seemed to tiresome of an idea to them.
Hopefully the dev team can be attracted by this thread if it really got something cooking up inside. I believe there's more creativity space other than the elemental abilities in diablo.
Maybe I'm saying other usage for the same mechanics.
Here's the tentacle attack I tweet to Diablo,
@Diablo Underground tentacle atk, function much like Druid hurricane, surfaced blind tentacle when cross victim by mousepull-opposite.
(You can only tweet so many words in one post thus I had to play with my space wisely)
It would be extremely exciting to see some hidden strange ideas that's been playing arround in someone's head for a long time. And please be gentle with each other's ideas, wouldn't want the open minded ones pull their plug away.
This is another idea, a skill, with the use of cursor leading the vision.
edit:
@diablo Edges of The Screen Skill: Attracts edge livings, when appear move DH make em stay in edge or they vanish soon, use em to kill.
@Diablo 1)Edge Livings "real" when DH shot em, hard cuz vanish easily if dh's still 2) manage em stay edge soon become edge eaters for you.
Please do comment even if you're against this, an experienced person with diablo material should always be respected for his/her point of view. Love criticism
Screen Edgelings: These creatures only appears in the edges of the gamer's vision (appears when player's certain traits are active. The vision and interaction with edgelings are exclusive to each individual players.) Edgelings will retreat and vanishes when player approach them directly, Edgelings can be consider as a resource, or a type of rougue-edge-eating-minion used by professional summoners, a clever features of the game that implement into specific builds' daily dungeon runs/treasure hunts/boss fights.
A definition for it can be something ghostlike, but I can't stop picturing Demon Hunter gutting in freaky ways with its corpse, and harvesting brainiac organs that can produce into megnatic rounds... (more details on the link above)
Maybe it's a language barrier or the fact that I just woke up but I am having a hard time understanding what you are saying. I think, you want skills that require more than just pointing and clicking. Like the Druids hurricane, you could spin the mouse around your character to increase size/damage. Basically making the game a bit more interactive.

Language barrier? Well English is my first and only language...
I know cursor-based-attacks sounds somewhat nonsensical. But I wanted the theme to be as direct as possible, as it turns out still sounding weird to the ear, although I'll confess being confused to the language of mechanics I used to elaborate those theories myself.
For if you're referring to the tweet than yes, it is difficult to write coherently when one can only manage to squeeze in so many words in one message. And thanks for clarifying what I wrote, this can really helps the ideas to be more direct. You're great, and of course I'll continue posting =)
Do you mind changing the font on those tweets? I can't read them without straining my eyes and I have perfect vision lol.

I can't understand what the tweets mean either ^^ Could you write a longer version of those examples?
I'll finish my follow up on underground tentacle theory at my link.
I introduced this section as an idea sharing channel, so wouldn't want to crowded my words unintentionally forcing this place into silents or something like that =)
It's a type of demon that will appear in the edges of your screen, their AI should be friendly enough for you to continue a few more steps forward, or stand idle for a few more seconds before recognizing them, to track them/kill them/lock them down as Edge Eaters, you must switch running to walking (this function was in D2), you can't shoot/leap at them directly , they'll flee away your vision, and they will be gone for good. You have to learn when they're gonna pause, or use environmental reinforcement to make them pause, when that happens, you can kill them straight forward.
To force pauses: Make demons splatter their blood at its direction, walk into blockade and walk out and gun it down the moment it pauses. Attack environmental triggery near it.
Yes, they are the monster for me to introduce new mechanics to demon slaughtering.
I think the most interesting part is when share vision for seeing Screen Edgelivings occur in PVE teamplay, since if one teammate accidentally step to far into the Screen Edgeliving's direction, the precious demon will disappear, most importantly, strategy like one teammate will have to switch to walking to continue tracking the Screen EdgeLiving, while other teammates will have to lure hordes of demons away to prevent the tracker being crowd to death.
Key Note: Screen EdgeLiving will make short-pause everytime you attack at something, this is to allow you to shoot at the triggery, or kill the demons that are troublesome without having to lose track of the Screen EdgeLivings.
Oh I get it. It's basically a monster that escapes from you instead of fight you ?
Another question: When you choose to walk instead of run, does the edgeling stop to walk only in your edges? Or, in other words, can a melee character reach and killa edgeling walking ?
For now, melee character will still have to use their range skill to kill Edgeliving, havn't consider other options for them yet, since I started out this skill specificly for DH (can tell by my tweets).
Edgelivings' movement speed should be the same as characters' walking speed, this tracking mechanic needs to be dealt with care, so making everything slower is my first reaction to help character track a demon while making sure it stays on the edges of your screen, it won't outrun you, but it will make pauses, and if both the character and this particular demon are running, it will be pretty frustrating to make instant pauses along with it.

Help out here hehe
