since the worldstone is gone, it's open season on sanctuary now.. presumably demons can take full form and strength there now.
Dito with the high heavens creatures???
That's the assumption. Really it's open to speculation, because we're not yet sure what effect the destruction of the worldstone will have.. But the worldstone was originally put in place to hide Sanctuary from Heaven and Hell, so it's reasonable to presume that its destruction will reveal Sanctuary completely to anyone looking in that direction.

If we are going to be fighting an archangel, it will be Inarius or Imperius.
While I agree with you that those are the most likely archangels we'd have to face, do you have any specific evidence to state this with certitude? No. We're simply speculating, same as you. Is it likely that we'll have to fight Tyrael? Nah. Is it possible that when Tyrael destroyed the worldstone, Baal's corruptive powers overwhelmed him and twisted him to evil? Yep.
The bottom line is: We. Don't. Know. But it's fun to speculate. Lore could go anywhere Blizzard wants to take it. You have to admit that it's possible, though very unlikely, that Tyrael is really a demon in disguise, who's been playing humanity all along to garner their trust, just so he can destroy the worldstone without Angleic consequences.

I think Tyrael is pure Good. But I want to be an open book due to the fact that I don't know much of the lore it self, but will read it as soon as I have read my Alien Vs Predator books.
That is why I think the first expansion will turn the tables and have us fight the heavens. That way it will be different enough from the rest to make it seem like we are not passing by Diablo and fighting someone else.
.. I almost agree with you on this. Fighting hell has been a long standing battle and as for story line could go on forever, but for playability, as of the 3rd game it might get old. There are plenty ways this could happen and still be productive to lore and gameplay. I wouldn't mind at all if this happened.
Final boss of the game is going to be Bashiok. No, really. In all seriousness, I'm pretty confident Diablo will be the last boss in the core game/initial release. Most of the reasons why people did Baal runs was for experience. You don't need that any longer as you'll be hitting 60 during normal play (unlike 99 post 1.10). All they need to do is some sort of repeatable quest where you kill a random act boss for better chance in loot, and all the act bosses are buffed to the same difficulty level.
An the only way to defeat Bashiok would be to out troll him via in game chat.
Good point that we'll be reaching max rank naturally by the end game. I sure hope that they'll be more than a few places to farm for loot though, and I also hope it's a real challenge. Uber Trist was good, though a few classes were just far to OP and ruined the challenge, and thus rarity of the loot.. On topic though, I'd place a good sum of money on Diablo appearing in game as himself, big red and firey :bigD:.

We're not. Where did you get that impression of our impression?
