Damn what's worse about these videos is, if you want to see them in High Def, you gotta go to a separate link for each one :(. I'd make a video featuring all 5 in one, but I'm afraid GameSpy would Copyright Infringe me.
ONTOP of all this, the video is LAGGING, YES! The system that the beta was played on (blizzard's own) actually had FPS lag.. multiple times, when casting spells and enemies.. now I understand this is a beta... but seriously
It puzzles me WHY blizzard would release such a video, showcasing what seems to be the worse sides of diablo 3 so far. It seems like it's not even been properly rendered and in a good resolution, or optimized..
Some marketing guys should be fired
OH I KNOW! There were like 4 enemies on a screen of 1-2 bland textures, and it was lagging all skippy.
Here's how my experience with the Barb video went:
:19 - orange.
:24 - i like how that dead skeleton's shield is glitched, spinning on the floor like a breakdancer.
:33 - nice war hammer. i like how it makes me feel like i'm in a looney toons episode. helps immersion.
:36 - whirlwind, lag, whirlwind, lag, (..)
:49 - opening door causes lag, old news.
:58 - 1:03 - white damage, white damage, white damage, white damage (..)
1:25 - laglaglaglag.
1:29 - orange.
I must say though, my opinion might be biased because of all the grease shining off Jay Wilson's forehead, which is known to cause a debilitating hallucinatory rage.

I know! It's almost like it's an alpha build!
Edit: Not to mention these two facts:
1. A recording software is being used to capture the gameplay (probably fraps).
and 2.

We're still looking good for third quarter, which is before the end of September.
We're preparing ourselves for an extremely limited, and extremely rough beta. The number of people let in will simply be dependent on concurrency of active players (we want to keep it full), and rough because we expect many issues as we're trying out a lot of new hardware and systems all at the same time. We'll get it ironed out before release of course, but while most of our other game tests have been of seemingly releasable products, we're preparing for this one to be a true beta.
@ Cherub: go watch Battlefield 3 alpha footage and get back to me.
This is a promotional video, and its quality sucks. That's what we're saying, and we're right.
Yeah BF3 looks incredible, no doubt, but Blizzard doesn't start working on graphical improvements until really late. In fact when I played SC2 beta back in February? the game looked really cartoony and pixelated, but right before ship all the upgrades were patched.
I think their major concern right now is getting content and systems cleaned up.
What's weird is, none of the other videos they showed in the past, including the followers video had this lag issue, so I think it was a temp issue. Also, G4 comments that the animation was really smooth, but that it does look like a dated game. Skip to 1:40.

That's a good point.. I always forget that Bliz tends to refine their graphics just before launch.
Yeah I guess what surprised me is that I've been REALLY impressed with the art style and graphics of pretty much all the previous videos (except the machinima but we won't go there ), which is why when I saw this video I just kind of said.. HUH?
For whatever reason I'm on troll patrol today, so don't take anything I'm saying too seriously. We all know when D3 drops I'm gonna play my life into ruin, so although I may be debbie-downering the world, I'm just jacking around cause I'm waiting for some code to finish compiling.

I'm not really seeing the lag everyones talking about? And the graphics look fine to me maybe someone can point me to a good comparison video. (Not the announcment video I don't find that relative any more)
Sc2 alpha graphics got a big update for release. I actually saved several battle reports and demo videos back then, and looking at them now, I can tell you everything looks much better than they did.
I don't see any lag, either. It could also be old footage that IGN stuck into the video.
