in the current state it feels like you can't be sure of not getting banned randomely.
But yeah would be interesting to see if they ban my starcraft, too if I like playing ranked games. Guess I'm not good enough in starcraft so they wouldn't care. But then again you never know how their detection software works...
There seem to be another ban wave yesterday and again people are reporting false positives. Looks like Blizzard keeps banning till no non-casual player is left. Interesting strategy..
Every banwave since 14th June we see more people reporting about false positives. I am one of those who were wrongfully banned for botting on 14th June. 1 month have passed and nope, no emails from Blizzard saying they made a mistake. Instead they send emails on Overwatch which I just delete upon seeing them in my inbox. I will not be playing any of their games anymore after what they did to me.
In fact, I hope they do a lot more banwaves cos we need a lot more innocent people like myself who were banned for something we didn't do in order to get the attention required. This is sad but true.
Tr y playing POE aka Path of Exile, its so much nicer, i came in here just to inform those that were wrongfully banned, time to switch over! I'm having so much fun with the game, try it and you know it, and the best thing is, the game is free. Fark you blizz, i won't ever buy a single game licence ever again.

Yep. Exactly what I did too. A week after my wrongful ban, I decided to give POE a try the initial impression I got after clearing normal difficulty is that this is how Diablo should have been. Even in softcore, you don't want to die because the penalty is just too huge. It is a game that makes you think a lot. Cos you can't just go full DPS. It is all about balance.
Even though the game is free to play, I decided to give them the support and bought their supporter pack. You can see that the developers are very actively involved in the game and you will feel that they actually play the game! Totally unlike the game that I shall not name.
Chalk up another wrongful ban. I got a canned message from Blizzard yesterday stating they detected the use of 3rd-Party software or botting and had banned my D3 account. Of course I appealed immediately but got a second canned response today saying they reviewed but are keeping the ban.
This is very frustrating. I have not played since the first or second week of this past season. Of course I have an authenticator but if they detected botting recently then I thought it must be a false positive and couldn't have been me.
I have had this D3 account since the original launch but have never been super competitive. I have never botted or cheated an any Blizzard game plus my non-seasonal Paragon score was something like 750 or so anyway.
What's more frustrating is I ran the hookshark application to see if a rogue driver or dll was hooking D3 but I see nothing. And since I haven't even opened D3 for a couple months, I don't even know if whatever dll may have hooked D3 is still around without investing in another copy of D3 to again get unjustly banned.
What confidence can we even have in Blizzard games if hours/days/years of our life is wasted when they flush innocent accounts???
We can't trust them so that's why my clan leader who was falsely banned a couple weeks ago is not coming back. Another clanmate was banned falsely yesterday (50 minutes before season 6 ended) and he will file an appeal (wasting time). I may stop playing this game too because it's as you've said... If we don't know why we're getting banned and blizzard won't acknowledge or look in to it, why invest in the game again when you can easily be banned again for no legitimate reason. Our whole clan died because blizzard made a mistake.
I've had 3 friends falsely banned, all around 2200 paragon on non season who played from release. They all got the same cookie cutter replies and were all told they were botting. Blizzard won't even let you discuss it on their forums either. Every link above is a closed topic. I made 2 threads about false bans and now they banned me from the forums.
TLDR: Here are the possible conflicts. Please reply if something you have matches one of these.
1) Windows XP or a 32-bit Operating System
2) Nvidia Drivers, an EVGA graphics card, a GTX 950, or an overclocked GPU
3) Google Chrome or an Adblocker like UBlock Origin
4) Skype
5) HP Printer
6) TCP Optimizer from speedguide.net

It's sad to see even more people are being affected. I think something that is overlooked by those who weren't wrongfully banned, is that the vast majority of gamers do not visit forums, or furthermore create accounts to login and post. What i'm trying to say is that we are like ants, for every one of us you see posting here about being wrongfully banned, there are many many more beneath the surface.
There was another thread that died out which discussed what we all had running on our PC's, so we could tie it together and figure out the cause. I think my system is probably the most clean of all people affected. My gaming computer is literally just that, only used for gaming, and I usually only play/install 1 game at a time. I'm super OCD about having my system in pristine operating performance, so I reformat every 3-4 months and always use the latest official drivers and keep as much bloat and other crap off my system as possible.
I was using Windows XP, 32-Bit. Since Diablo 3 launched my PC hasn't changed. So whatever I got "detected" for last month, was also there on May 15th, 2012 when I first started playing the game. The only exception to this, is that I switched out the Graphics Card from a GTX 580 to a GTX 950 a few weeks before I was banned, because my card died. I find it very suspicious, and coincidental. I'm believing that caused my ban somehow. My new EVGA 950 comes pre-overclocked, and I wonder if the new drivers or the built-in overclock interfere with Warden.
One of the other things that came to mind, is battle.net had an update somewhere around May or June where they added "Browser Hardware Acceleration" to the interface options. Ever since then, my Battle.net flickered and had graphical anomalies whenever I would go into the options or hover over buttons. It occurred with the new acceleration feature turned on and off. I believe this is a conflict with Chrome, their version of Flash, or my adblocker.
It has to be one of those things. My PC is so bare bones compared to everyone else. Idling at the desktop, task manager shows about 178mb of Ram usage. I don't have microsoft bloat, a bunch of services running, lots of software installed, viruses/malware of any kind, etc. It's very clean.
hebnebs, just because you cheated, doesn't mean we all did. For those of us genuinly affected by a false-positive, your post and others like it just come across as ignorant and immature. You're not helping anyone, and you're just trying to start an arguement. Go troll somewhere else. It's sad that people can't behave and have a decent conversation without people like you trying to jump in wherever possible to stir the pot. We don't really care what you have to say. Thanks for trying.
This is the sad reality we live in currently. Blues & MVPs keep saying that you can always appeal if you feel your ban was false-positive, but none of innocent players got their ban lifted no matter what. You can't even talk about it in official forums or you get banned yourself. Either they are not aware about growing number of mistakes Hack team has made recently, or they just don't care/want to help to solve them. Even the clearest false-positive cases (streamer got banned twice in a row within 2 weeks while streaming all game-play) haven't been solved and bans remain without any possibility to find out what caused the ban in the first place. It's not about questioning false-positives any more, it's about how they handle those situations. At the moment, they don't. Sad times.
They basically permanently lose us as their customers. And to think that I have been so loyal in buying their games, to the extend that I just buy the collector's edition and don't even play the game I bought.
Every now and then I get reminded of this wrongful ban and the anger just builds up.
I have switched to support another game (POE) and friends whom I played with before I was wrongfully banned, they have switched over with me too. Some even go to the extend of deleting all their characters in Diablo 3 and uninstalling the game from their computer.
One of them told me that he himself was surprised at how easy it was for him to delete thousand of hours of game play without even a second thought.
Received an email about being banned due to use of Bots even when I never used it. I'm not a kid, payed for the game on launch, and received the expansion as a gift when it launched too.
Had moderate play but on March of this year I really played a lot since I'm was under vacation and I was really stressed, so I played my game to relax. When I come back to work I stopped playing and finally a month later my game was banned.
Opened four tickets in total but they just said that had been appealed and the ban would not be lifted. They do not give any additional information.
I was considering going to court about this. But this cost and stress trying to regain my game would not be reasonable.
Locking this because after the sort-of necro there were a total of 5 (!) posts that all had to be deleted because they were offensive, trolling, or in other ways against the forum rules. If you can't stay civil in discussing matters like this, just stay away from it for good.

They just answered to my customer support ticket with a copy+paste message. What a surprise!
It's like not even reading what I mentioned in the ticket..
Won't buy a new copy of the game. This treatment of false positives is ridiculous. Seriously...

Got 2-5 matching here. Geforce GTX, Chrome with Adblock plugin, Skype and a HP printer. Maybe it helps to figure it out.
Just a +1 here.
