You guys know it's like months till release, right? I mean, the beta just technically started. They might keep those first measly 100 invites as the only active ones for a week, then add another 100 before they start really upping the numbers. I just don't want to see any wasteful injuries of your precious F5 fingers @.@
Source of release in a month?
Source of Blizzard only releasing 100 invites?
*he said monthS (datamined info of the beta client saying it ends dec 5th)
*Other FnF testers say they only saw about a 10 person increase yesterday, and about the same today.
BOOM
A major observation is that very, very few (if any, to be honest) keys have been released to the general fanbase. Given the number of Diablo beta testing hopefuls amongst the members of this site, one would imagine that at least a few of us would have gotten keys so far.
Perhaps we were wrong in our initial estimations of the scale of the beta. Other betas that I was a part of, such as Starcraft 2 and Wrath of the Lich King, had a tremendous number of testers getting in on initial waves. Of course, in games with a lot of PVP, having a large testing population only helps in balancing the game much better before release.
I'm beginning to think that perhaps Diablo III doesn't need a large testing base. Maybe there will be a few hundred testers at the most, and that would allow them to achieve what they would have liked. Then again, with a game that has the randomization factor like D3, you'd think that the possibility of bugs would be a lot higher, and the more players, the more possibility of exploring and fixing bugs in every instance.
I'm rambling at this point, but the gist is that maybe the beta is a lot smaller than we think. If that's the case, then we've all been trolled. Oh well.

I doubt it's a months time before release. If I remeber correctly, wasn't there a Blue post saying that 1,000 (first 1,000?) people who bought Blizzcon tickets will get beta keys. Blizzcon starts Oct 21, and I would assume they would give them at least a weeks worth, if not two to make the goody bag worth it. November 22, 2011 seems to be first realistic date, BUT the Decmeber 6th does work out as well for this reason (rough logic):
October 21 being a Friday -> Nov 4 (being two weeks from Oct 21; Blizzcon folks) -> Beta continues two more weeks, till Nov 18 (at this point pure for strees tests, maybe open beta starts) -> From Nov 19th to Dec. 5th its Blizz working internally for the day one patch (like every WOW expansion), but printing the discs. Beta may or may not be up, also, holiday break in U.S.-> Dec 6th, release day.
Sorry for off topic, but if it matters Nope no key here.
i dreamed about aliens. seriously. those grey ones with big eyes.and the funny thing was i was trying to wake up from a dream in a dream. no shitting now, srsly am not trolling. it was like inception but with aliens.
now when i think about it, there could be a chance it wasnt a dream. hmm
After the beta announcement (so the night before last) I had been doing algebra homework all day. I had some really messed up dreams where my algebra was somehow behaving in the same way as the cocktease closed beta, like my solutions were there but they weren't... so weird, and so annoying to dream about math all night.

Only thing is they have given 1000's of invites to people who attended BlizzCon? Based on that information id say they are looking to do a wider scale Beta. Well i really hope so atleast!!!
That's still not clear. I was at Blizzcon 2010 when Paul Sams made the announcement onstage, but he could have been saying it in jest for all we know. It certainly wasn't clear from his tone. Also, given the large number of press and fansite people that were at the event, the true number of that 1000, even if its true, is lower. I've yet to see any confirmation that Blizzcon attendees are some kind of special pool to which that number of beta invites would be applied.

We know it's max 2 months till release yes. Why?
I'm not sure. Doing holiday releases gets pretty difficult, between Thanksgiving time and Christmas holidays. Of course, it's a great goal from a sales perspective, but it would entail them getting testing and final pre-release patching worked on and completed by early November at the very latest.
I think we're looking at an early 2012 (Jan/Feb) release. That would be my bet.

What year of blizzcon are you talking about? Because there's a blue post that said Blizzcon '08's beta keys were for Starcraft 2 only, unless you're talking about another year...: Bashiok quote

I was referring to this year. I'll look for it (hopefully Im remebering correctly) during my lunch hour here.
Your bet would be wrong. There's nothing to test anymore. Beta is just a stability test. Unless something goes SERIOUSLY wrong this game is coming out in 2011.
I want the game to come out shortly after Blizzcon, like everyone else on here. I'm just saying, from a realistic perspective, I don't see the game coming out this year, but early next year.

2010 blizzcon tickets, not 2011 is what I understand.

Sorry for half-way double post. It may not be a Blue, but ift clarifies what I brought up: http://us.battle.net...opic/3229083812
It's going to be 1,000 radom keys given out at Blizzcon.
EDIT: They could be for the next WOW or SC expansion, so take with grain of salt. Don't see specific blue on it being D3 only keys...

Btw just to be sure,yo apply for d3 beta, you only need to go on ur beta profile and check the diablo 3 universe box right?
You also have to run the system check App
Thanks mate ,did all that.Btw does it matter how many Blizzard games you have purchased?
As far as i know that makes no difference. They are looking more at compatibility so your system spec is what counts. Good luck with getting the key BTW

I'm wondering myself if there are better chances if you're using an older PC. My PC is overkill too. I might opt with my wife's account / pc. It's a bit older.
More than likely blizzard will be looking at mid range pc specs, high range like the bub above us, are obviously going to run 100% fine and more, (not that he doesn't have a chance to get in, blizzard will still invite high end pcs). But really old computers that barley fit the bill probably have a bit better chance than high end pcs still, (because they won't run so well) but still want to see how well they actually do. To me this makes sense.Mid range pc builds probably have the highest chance of invites. (Nothing states that any of this will go as we think it will)
My pc is on the higher end of mid spec computers, My graphics card can definitly be upgraded, along with the ram i have can be upgraded. i only have 4 gigs of ddr3

Odd stuff is happening.
Me and two of my friends were suppost to get the beta.
I did not respond to the email before the deadline though, so I didn't get it.
HOWEVER, both of my friends responded in time, yet only one of them received the beta.
I am insanely confused right now.
I mean, the mails were confirmed to be legit, and only 1 got the actual beta. We're all from Europe.
My friend tried to contact the support but they just responded with the generic mail telling us that it looks like it was a fake, even though we know it wasn't.
Blizzard is really screwing around. First they add a ridiculous deadline, then they do not even give the beta to the people who actually respond in time.
You're not in any position to determine if a Blizzard email is legit. Only Blizzard is. Ignore all emails talking about a beta. Always. If you got in the beta you do absolutely NOTHING related to emails. All you EVER have to do is keep checking your BNet account for the D3 Beta box. If you ever get asked to click or do ANYTHING to get in a beta from an email, you are WRONG and it is FAKE. Thanks for helping the scammers make Blizzard's life more miserable.
Blizzard explained forever ago the proper way to check for beta invites.
Yeah, we got invited, but we did not receive the beta. That feeling is much worse than getting nothing at all.
It feels unfair, since no one else seems to have this problem. All the diablofans admins/moderators seem to have access to the beta right now.
ummm you dont need to respond to emails... the emails are sent out ONLY to let you know you're already in. It was fake.
No it wasn't. I am talking about the email that was sent out a month ago by bashiok to all the press sites and such, including diablofans. I was not a fake.

After the beta announcement (so the night before last) I had been doing algebra homework all day. I had some really messed up dreams where my algebra was somehow behaving in the same way as the cocktease closed beta, like my solutions were there but they weren't... so weird, and so annoying to dream about math all night.
