What changes will monsters get when more players enter a game? Is there a percentage of hp/resistance/other stat increases each time a player enters a game? I remember in d2 monsters got stronger but it was always easier with more players of close level then it was more difficult with more players. Is there any information on this?

Yea, from what I understand, that's how it will work, but item drops wont increase(because they are based on individual players anyway). While the monsters will be harder, because there are more players, you'll beable to kill faster in a team. However it will be very hard to take on a monster by yourself though, if there are more people in the party.
I can say from experience the increase in monster HP makes a pretty big difference between one and four players. While you could stray from the group and manage, at least in the beta content, it would take much longer to mow through mobs, and you would be missing out on the loot dropping form the mobs your team mates are killing.

@Winged - Seeing as you stated you have some experience in this, does XP/kill or quality of loot increase with more people in a game?
If so, does anyone have news on whether the '/playersX' command (or something similar) will make its way into D3? I haven't played D2 in quite a while, maybe this was part of a mod or something and not officially supported by Blizzard, but I remember being able to type /players 4 to scale up the monster difficulty without actually playing with 3 other people...
Seems like a handy thing to be able to do when your friends are offline or whatever and you don't feel like playing in a public game.

I have my own reasons to drink, I think I'll call my Dad up and invite him.
1. No offline single player mode
2. You should be at max level at the end of Hell or at least very close. Infernal min level is 61 so you can also can level quickly there if just short of 60 if you have the gear already.
3. As far as I know the drops ratio will not change in a 4 player game compared to 1 player game but the kill rate might be faster if all 4 players are playing together so more loot may drop in the same period of play time.

On Strike and supporting Fallout 4 Mod Makers
Some fallout 4 mod makers have had their mods stolen and uploaded and downloaded on Bethesda's site for the Xbox One.

Nothing scales with more or less players other than monster stats, and maybe the amount of monsters. Not 100% sure on the second part. I know from past Blue Posts though that there is no EXP, or Loot scaling with more or less players. The only benefit to grouping up is to kill enemies faster, even though they are scaled up a bit. This makes for more chances to drop loot, since you are in fact killing more monsters per minute.

The scaling as of this moment seems pretty good.

Since the need is not there.
