Let us unlucky bystanders have some fun.
Care to post about your best drop and your best crafted item?
Just post a screenshot of each item and your toughts about them, like why you find it useful, which char uses it and so on.
To be fair I sold both the best item I found, and crafted. The best one I found was a rare ring which had a whole slew of great stats, mostly +21 attack and +7% attack speed. I found it very early during one of my first 5 character play throughs. I got an insane amount for it though, 50k. If I had found it now though, being more experienced, I wouldn't have sold it at all. It was the best ring I have seen in the game by far, maybe even the best item.
The best item I crafted was a rare Orb from the Blacksmith. I've crafted about 6 of these, since you can sell them for much, much more than it costs to craft them. The best Orb that I rolled had max +20% damage for Wizards, and some other decent random properties.
Sooo I'll just post my three favorite items I have right now :).
My two favorite, have to be my two Brutal Heavy Axes.
These type of axes are the best melee weapons in the game at this point. Both of mine are very high rolls, and I paid a pretty penny for each. These axes can only be crafted, and range from 10-29 damage, 30%-35% Critial Hit Damage, and some other added type of damage, be it fire, cold, arcane, holy, poison, or lightning.
My Winter one, even though it's stats are a tad lower than the other, is much more useful and valuable. Cold damage slows enemies, same as it did in Diablo 2.
My favorite armor piece, would have to be my Rare Stranglers ;).
Again, these are the best gloves in the game for melee characters. This pair in particular is a pretty high roll, with useful stats, but not the best I've seen. While I'd rather a +attack stat than a +defense, the added defense does bring me from 7.14% reduced damage from a level 13 enemy without any gloves on (See here), to 33.90% with them on (See here).

Do you think being able to do this will be problematic in the full release? If you can afford one orb, can't you just keep cashing it in for more and more money? Or is it like, once you use the recipe for a rare orb, you cannot use that recipe again?

Doing this kind of thing in the full release will be far more difficult come later levels.
You can use a recipe as many time as you want, or craft the same item as many time as you want as long as you have the supplies. Come release though, no one will be looking for these low level items which are so easy to craft. Since you'll be level 60 (max level) by the end of Hell, people will then be looking for End-Game items at that point. To craft these items you'll need to salvage items from that difficulty, which will be much harder to get.
I'm sure this will happen to a small degree, but those people will be working for it since they'll be gathering supplies to craft true end-game items. Also, I guess you could try to keep selling low level items to low level players, but the gold you'll be receiving will be pennies at that point. Right now in the beta these are considered end-game items, that's why they're going for so much. Since they are in fact not even close to true end-game items though, they're very easy to make. So the profit at this point is insane compared to the cost to make them. This is just because we're stuck at super low level content.

I bet some very good items will be created by crafting, it's a feature I like a lot.
Also I think low or middle lvl items with high +x to experience stats (like Corpsie's belt) will sell really high, lot of people will try to lvl up as soon as possible, at least sooner after release, later there will be the chance to sell characters and that will lower the prices.
CherubDown seems to lead the barb 1hand DPS but I appreciate Cold damage a lot, I find it really useful too.
@Moxx: me too have never sees a white one and I've seen a lot of streams, I like the precision approach, how does she play?
I do not think that characters will be sold in the AH. To me what is the point of playing a game if you can buy a level 60 character with full gear. What kind of fun would that be 5 minutes max.
I do not think the xp gear will be that valuable. If the other mods on the gear are good then it is all right. Again I will be playing HC so that mod will be quite low on the gear.

well she kicks a lot of ass. a wave of force will knock most enemies out, even on 4 player co-op. not the bigger ones like unburied of course, but zombies and skellies are no problem.
I crafted a wand today that you might be interested in

If it was from the Skeleton King then it is likely that he is the only monster high enough of a level to drop an amulet. Amulets may have a higher item level then the monsters in the first third of Act 1. Since there is no option to craft any at this time anyway.
I do not have access to the Beta. Do the merchants have any options to buy rings/amulets?

I have only seen a few feeds check the merchants but it was so quickly done and the quality of the feed I could not see clearly what items were there.

Random zombie drom the Defiled Crypts. More specifically those who appear from the collapsing rubble after a few seconds. After I got the amulet drop I don't miss out a single one of those guy.
I almost always skip those guys because they take so damn long to pop out of the ruble.. I'll wait for them now

Then I woke up, realized I'm not in the Beta & cried myself to sleep.

I really don't get why they couldn't throw in a few Amulets, even if they're still working on them.. lol
But i've an rare demon hunter cloak!
Where was the amulet found?

I like the color of your gloves, Doomscream.
