Good one. Once you'll lay off the crack, oops i mean wow you'll realize what a joke it's become and how they've been constantly losing subs lately, not to mention the fact that it's pretty clear that a huge % is disliking the whole joke of an expansion that they've announced.
Haters will be haters yes, however in the past you'd barely see 5-10% hating on new expansion announcements. Now it's getting closer to 50%.
Wow will die, and like most people with a brain predicted, blizzard will be the ones to kill it.
proved yourself another hater troll retard like i mentioned in my post by only picking out the fanboy part of what i said and not commenting on their $200,000,000 they make a month that has stayed consistent as well as there 11m+ subs for the past 8 years. rofl. and the mass majority of people don't comment on or care much about expansions. therefor your random made up percentages just make you look like an even bigger retard. lmao.
I play WoW, and always loving Chinese design have no problem extending my sub for 12 months. I would have been doing my sub for 12 months anyway for being able to play MoP, so the fact that I get some bonuses is pretty sweet.
I am at heart a Diablo franchise fan and always will be. Getting a digital copy to play the moment it is released is a BIG selling point for me since I'd otherwise have to wait for my CE to turn up, and I'm impatient enough to not want to wait 24 hours or more for the delivery. At least now I can play the moment it is released and upgrade at my leisure.
That being said, I do fully agree that it feels unfair to Diablo fans that those who have no interest in Warcraft feel let down by the offer. It does mean WoW fans with no interest in D3 get a free copy that they may or may not be interested in, which seems unfair, but does make good business sense for Blizzard.
I'm sure this has already been pointed out in previous posts, but I'll say it anyway just in case:
tl;dr - the WoW subscribers may get a freebie, but in a way, their monetary contribution to Blizzard ensures their stability and thus indirectly provides a future and increased support/expansion for their other franchises.
If Blizz have lost subscriptions to WoW, their biggest money earning product without doubt, then they're likely under pressure to bring stable results from their sponsors, overheads and evil Activision Ogres (as many see them). So Blizzard need to get some kind of flat, guaranteed money coming in. Locking people into paying a WoW sub for 12 months gives them definite numbers to show their bosses etc. That's the obvious basics, but the knock on effect is relevant.
with happy Blizz partners/bosses/sponsors etc, they're going to be more interested and get more support for providing things for their other franchises, eg. Diablo.
So while this might seem like a slap in the face to fans of Diablo, think of it more as securing the future stability and expansion of the company that produces the game you love, and therefore increasing the chance of regular updates and improved services. If Blizzard was having money trouble, it would be very likely that a non-subscription based game would feel the impact in development more since it's a one-hit payoff (for initial purchase, disregarding RMAH fees) and would have no long standing guarenteed revenue.
Ay!
But about the spoiler. Im still frustrated.
If D3 was offline, they didnt have to "update the service" or anything. I dislike the "online always".
And about "updates / patches" I did fine without them on D2, however the expansion was nice.
It's weird...
I feel diablo 3 has been degraded/ridiculed somehow. And I don't even have anything against WoW.
A brand new game free? One that has been worked on for like I-don't-know-how-many years used as a marketing tool for some MMO past its prime...
Anything for money I guess.
I feel the same way. It just doesn't seem right.
Me to..
Somehow I feel robbed, And I'm not saying World of Warcraft is bad. I just feel this is a let down given the huge 15 year celebration of the diablo franchise at Blizzcon. And how much they stated Diablo is a huge part of blizzard.
I was so sure the pandaren thing was a joke from Blizzard and they were going to show the real xpack after the pandathing. I cant believe that is the direction wow goes to. pandas with racials such as bouncy and turn based pet fights.
for me wow is the best game ever created and boy was i sad seeing this crap.
rip WoW :-(
warcraft existed long before wow, and wow is derived directly from it. pandas have ALWAYS existed NOT as a joke in the warcraft world. therefor its not some new "crazy direction". you just have no idea the lore and backstory of warcraft so your just misinformed.
What are you whining about.... People can now get a free game. If they wouldn't have made D3 they would not have come up with this plan. Trust me, they probably won't make a net profit out of D3 if it's so succesful that it will draw a lot of WoW subscribers. They're releasing this game because they love it, and not just for they money.
If they were all for the money WoW would've had 6 expansions by now..
To all those WoW players, grats! Good deal! For the non-WoW players, overpay on a CE and show them who's boss

Thats me.
And.. uhm.. Overpay on a CE is not an option.
I will have one ordinary and TWO CE.
Why the second?
I wanna get the CE in a museum box, a frame.. But Im curious about the stuff inside the CE, so I could use ONE CE, and have the other as a nice cinema-room blacklight artifact chamber.
MY biggest question is if I get my cousin to get a year subscription (who actually plays WoW) can I get D3 on MY battle.net account?

I agree with feminism. I don't think that it's right that for every dollar a man makes, a women gets 70 cents. Why do I only get 30 cents and some chick gets the rest?

rofl no, that would make zero sense. the account that signs up gets the free diablo, period
bleh, I don't play WoW (at least not for a while), no point than. besides why get what you can bully others to get for you.

I would have gladly given 100 euros to get into beta now and have the game free later. But i will never give money to that piece of crap that is WOW.The game that ruined the flow of awesome games like warcraft 1,2&3.
1. Warcraft 1 sucks, sorry Blizzard.
2. You've obviously never played vanilla wow or tbc if you think it's a piece of crap, maybe it's just not in your taste to have to team up with other players outside your mother's basement.
i think this was a very smart move by blizzard.
they are sucking so many WoW players into D2 and are most likely to attract new players to WoW as well just think about all those bored ppl waiting for D3, reaktivating their old WoW accounts.
bingo. and to keep people from switching to SWTOR. or at least they will pay for both lol
why dont they do the opposite...buy Diablo 3 and get 6 months WOW for free .... I think all the Diablo players who have never played WoW might give it a shot and after six months pay for extended time.
I think this is a ploy to keep people in wow instead of going to SWTOR, disguised as a ploy to keep people into wow instead of going to Diablo 3.
A lot of friends I know will pay a subscription for only one game, and if there's a contract like this, they'll stay with it until it runs out instead of paying for 2 subscriptions.
Anecdotally, I was willing to play Rift because I wasn't paying any subscriptions at the time. If I was playing wow, I definitely wouldn't have given Rift a shot for two reasons:
Who has time for 2 MMOs?
$15 bucks is way more managable than $30

Companies that are all for the money won't get a loyal customer base,
Companies that don't care about money will starve out for financial reasons.
Blizzard took the middle road, and thats what makes companies succesful.

What exactly? Like giving a D3 account to a friend? No.
Might work.
