With the miniscule amount of content available in the Beta why do you want to play? Do you think it'll give you an edge-up when the full game releases? Do you just jones for Diablo with new crispy graphicy goodness?
With videos such as the level 1 naked witch doctor killing the Skeleton King, the challenge certainly does not seem to be there.
Is it the joy of "aha.. I got you little bug!!!"
When the Beta first started I was refreshing 5 times a day... after a few weeks it had gotten down to once a day maybe... now it's maybe once a week... even with 100,000 invites I've so far resigned myself to playing it when it's done.
It's just my perspective, that if they are at the point of wanting to stress test, just open it wide, and let it get hammered.
Anywho... why do you still want in, if you're like me and still out?
Well for me, my friends and I are going all gun-hoe and trying to get to Inferno as fast as we can. I think having a beta key will help take away some of the time trying to figure out the game basics so we can get going. I'd like to get familar with the hotkeys, menus, and selection screens so I'm not taking the first few hours after the release to figure this stuff out.
I have been trying to get the beta since the beginning of the giveaways. Not ashamed to say i created this account when they started doing contests on the website for a chance to get one and i had some pretty good submissions but never won. I want a chance to get a look at all the classes and game play that way i can help out some other people i will be playing with once it actually comes out. Plus, i am pretty bored of all the games i currently play and need something new to take up some of my time
My friend got in. We'd like to be able to test multiplayer by playing together. But alas, even though I've been in every WoW beta I didn't get into the diablo beta.
For me it's mainly about testing how well my PC runs it at different video settings. The goal is to get it to run at a stable 100 or 120 FPS. I don't care if I have to set everything to the lowest setting to achieve that. I'll always prefer performance above image quality. It would also be nice to get a feel for the Witch Doctor, which is the class I intend to play. I loved the Diablo 2 necromancer, and this guy seems to be the most similar to him of all the classes.
I am also interested in checking out various game mechanics, and how they differ from Diablo 2. Only having a total of 6 skills and 3 passives concerns me a bit, but we'll see how it pans out. Hopefully they'll add more character/skill customization or extra skill slots in an expansion at some point
Of my group of friends, I'm the last one that doesn't have beta access it would seem.
I've been keeping my eye on the demon hunter since it was announced, so I really wanna give it a whirl and see if I would actually like it. Second on that list would be the monk.
But to get right down to it and say why I wanna play the beta is really.....cuz I'm a huge Diablo/dungeon crawler fan and I'm looking for that new one to tide my hunger, even if it is just the first 1/3 of act 1.
I don't. =) Haven't watched video's either. At this point I'll just wait for release and drink it in all at once.
Also it's very amusing looking at all the people with 1 or 2 posts on their name, laughing maniacally at them from above, as they squirm in this ratrace :3
I would like to play the beta because I would like to be apart of the making of Diablo 3. I am a long time fan of the diablo series and have been waiting a long time to play diablo 3. The beta would be a very nice appetizer to the main course ; )

Been following this game since 2008 after playing D2 for a couple years so getting my hand on the beta would ease the pain of waiting for a release of the final game. Also my girlfriend and my brother want to play it almost as much as I do so I could allow them to try it out on my account.
And its a beta so if I can give Blizz some help by reporting bugs and stuff while having fun its a win-win.
Kinda want a little more than just watching others play it on youtube
Just to any of you who DO get into beta, please hear my plea...
ONE bug per thread
ALL auction house related bugs are to be posted in the AUCTION HOUSE thread, no seperate ones.
This would save us SO much room in the blue tracker... Getting a bit sick of all the blue copy pastings of "Please make one thread per bug" and "Please post all AH related bugs in the following topic:"
I don't really care to much about the beta. I just want the game to be released already. I quit wow a few days ago in preparation for D3 and i have had to pass the time playing bejeweled on my phone haha.
I'd love to play the beta because I want to be a part of this testing community helping blizzard make another great game. I don't think it will give me an upper hand or anything like tha in any way but helping test it and retest it and getting those bugs out of the way will help release it faster too! Lol only becaus we all know the game won't be released until Blizz thinks its perfect ;]
For me it's mainly that I wanna try it before the full game is out. The hype inside me is so much that I just want to try the game out now. To be able to play it before the full game is out would be awesome.
I would like to be apart of the beta for my Youtube channel. I'm covering multiple things on my channel hobbyhubs but to connect to people in more ways then 1 is something i'm after a lot and diablo 3 is a layer id like to add.
Im just a huge fan and would feel priviledged to be able to beta test! It would be awesome to catch a bug, test some things out and get a little taste of D3 !
Me and my GF are playing some D2 lately and it's only making me more excited for D3 haha
The main reason is simply because I can't wait to play the final version and because I don't have enough other quality games to play while waiting for it right now. (Got tired of mostly all quality games released recently)
And the reasons why I can't wait for D3 are multiple:
-I know (at least I have a lot of confidence) that it will be what everyone expect it to be = the game they'll play hours and hours for at least a couple years.
-Diablo 2 is probably the game I played the most in my life (right after Final Fantasy 7 back in the days).
-Diablo 3 is (so far, we'll see after the rune system is finally released) to me exactly what it needed to be. It has fixed every flawed mechanics that Diablo 2 had:
- Manual stats allocation (freedom of choice led to many non-optimal characters)
- Skill system (being unable to respec also led to a lot of non-optimal characters and time lost in D2, and even if the final skill system is not known, I'm sure Blizzard will end up with something fun and fair)
- Loot system (the fastest clicker ended up with the best loot)
- The addition of an "ultimate" difficulty level (the fact that Inferno requires to reach the level cap is a brilliiant idea)
- Online-only. (To me the fact that the game is playable only on B.net is great. Simply because it forces you to play in "persistance-only mode" for me will give everything more sense to everything I do. And it will also put every single Diablo 3 player in connection, everyone will be in the same boat and will be able to interact with each others by default.)

Other than that I'm actually a decent guy o.o

After getting my beta key 2 weeks ago and "betamaxing" all 5 characters to level 13, I must say I am happier than hell that this game will rock.
Bring it on.Oh, and to all those "I am going to write up a post about how good a tester I will be so I get picked" people, don't waste your time.
