I don't think that it will specifically be a Druid but I can see a shapeshifter of some kind in future. I mean this as it will be a mainly physical damage and melee character presumably and not have any nature magic (besides maybe some auras?). I'm not sure either what forms would work out with the lore and such but I was always a fan of the Werewolf form and think it would be a great addition to the world. However, I do know that the whole Werewolf thing is cliche and many fantasy roleplayers seem to have a hatred towards anything werewolf, vampire, or dragon in combination with shifting.
I'd love to see something brand new, never before seen in diablo or even in wow. they got some good thinkers over there in blizzard and would be reall aweesome to see some out-of-the-box type of class
My guess would be a melee shield wearing class. A paladin would be too close to the monk so I think they would do something else. A spartan/phalanx type class would be awsome.
Is there any chance they could bring back any of the old classes? but maybe a druid since all the new ones have filled quite few of the old ones. I do miss necromancer though
I'm hoping for the paladin to be honest. I don't think that the follower fills the role of a player at all. Paladi is a heavy armor shield using holy melee/caster.
To be honest, I'd love to see what they can do with an updated hammer slinging system. Oh man!
I really would be worried to hazard a guess. I don't think they would bring the Paly back as the void's been filled by the Monk(from D1:Hellfire) and Templar. I'd say the Necro is too close to the Witch Doctor to be implemented. The Demon Hunter is an Assasin/Amazon/Rogue trybrid (may have just made that word up) and the Wizard is from D1 and rules out the sorcceres. They wouldnt bring the warrior back cause it's just too broad for D3 and the Barb has that slot. There wasn't much of a fanbase for the Druid so guess I dont think we'll see any old classes. Although a would love to see the the Paladin make a come back.
i know this is early (since D3 will be out "soon") but i want to ask community
what class do you expect or wish to see in expansion. Do you think Blizzard will
put some old class from D1 or D2 or something completely different ???
I personally would like to see necromancer again since that is my favorite from D2 !
Looking forward to see what do you think....
I totally agree with Necromancer, but I think Blizzard will want to do something new, seeing as the witch doctor is kindof his spritual sccessor. Somethign like the Paladin, a Knight maybe would be nice. Rework the druid maybe?
It will be druid for sure. All blizzard games have druids and none of the current classes have anything associated with druids. And then alchemist and some melee agile class with energy resorce system similar to wow's rogue.
I am anticipating a DeathKnight kind of new class which formerly servant of diablo then somehow turn side againist him. May be kind of powerful demon which came from origins of lesser evil brothers of diablo (mephisto, baal). Or vice versa a holy kind of class (as a reverse of mirror image deathknight a holy paladin one) came from origins of lesser Archangels (izual may be)
everything depends on %50 storymakers and %50 allowed game mechanics
I would like to see a class who could morph into different things, a bit like a druid could. Maybe it could be some sort of cursed guy who morphs into different dark demon creatures. His tortured soul would be wishing peace and that would be a reason why he would be trying to haunt down those hell creatures. Something like the demon hunter we saw back in warcraft 3 who could morph into a demon. Shapeshifting skills are the coolest! Also, just as an aside, i think it would be great if they implement the idea of combining abilities from different classes to unleash more powerfull abilities. The kind of thing that was implemented in chrono trigger for instance. For exemple, a wizard casting a lightning bolt on the sword of a barbarian to grant it some sort of bonus.
my favorite class to play was always the paladin but i guess he is just like the monk in ways, but i always had fun playing a druid that would be cool to see return again.but i also think they may make 1 new class and add 1 old one from d2 for the first expansion. but who knows what blizzard may do.
From what I can see, the druid is the most sought character from the old games. If Blizz does the same as they did with RealID forums, public chat, and other older events and listen to the community, they will had it.
If there are 2 characters per expansion, they will probably add an old character and a new one. That way, they would keep up with their "bringing old characters back" trend (D1 warrior = dark wanderer in d2, barb comes back in d3) and I am sure the community would love to see a character they played with 10 years ago come back with brand new flashy skills.

the druid whit bear form or werewolf will be nice to see in a balanced game
I hope not !!!
1. If they choose for class from previous games - Necromancer
2. If they choose to add new - Druid
Time will tell...
Personnally I'd like to see something similiar to the Paladin and one like the Amazon.
But a totally new class would be even better, though I don't have any idea of which innovative class would fit well into Diablo.
I think his pick animation was the greatest
