Anyone have any new info on primal ancient droprates on season 18?
I´m rocking my SSF softcore wizzy at 1150+ para and I only had 2 primal drops (with the lvl 70 bonus clear of course) this season. I´ve been doing hundreds of speed gr´s (85 - 100) and of course rifts and bounties. Based on my forgotten soul count and some guestimation I must have had at least around 10K legendary drops already. So this would translate to 0,0002% drop rate. I believe even the vanilla version of the game wasn´t this harsh.
Pls confirm if I´m just brutally unlucky or has something changed, or am I missing something. Hate to see ppl rocking their perfect primal gear while I´m looking at my glorious Primal Neanderthal, wondering if I could somehow work it in to my build ;).
Remember that ancients give 3 forgotten souls and are about 10% drop. So for every 100 legendaries - 90 will give 1 and 10 will give 30 - so you'll get 120 forgotten souls. So you've gotten less than you think.
But yes you're probably unlucky. I got 5 primals before I'd hit 750 paragon.

Good point. What also adds to it is the Forgotten Souls drop from rift guardians, and all the Forgotten Souls you get from goblins and caches and so on. It's really not 1 FS = 1 legendary looted, it's much less.
Also, the question is when you cleared GR70 to unlock primals, so a chunk of those legendaries are from before that. All those things combine reduce the number. You're still unlucky, but not unreasonably unlucky. That being said, there's tons of people who are higher paragon and are not wearing a single primal. It's so rare to find a usable, well-rolled primal.
I still think it was a bad choice not to have that guaranteed first Primal at GR 70 be an item that is being worn.
With the extremely low drop rate we have the chances of even getting a useful legendary with the desired rolls for a specific build are already low...
Monk for example has 226 useable items add to that 12 follower tokens and theres only a 0.055 chance of getting even a normal legendary drop thats worn, never mind useable and thats discounting non class loot and potions.
Ill let someone else do the maths but the chance of a wearable legendary being Primal and then even useable is just so low its not a constructive addition to the game, Ive said it before and ill say it again layered RNG is not fun, yes i know its not actually layered in implementation but in play it might as well be.
Personally I dont think its a sensible system at all, Gamers are conditioned to work to completion (unless you play open ended games exclusively) and Primals are the bait used to lure us into playing more because we have that desire to achieve completion. Current drop rates are closer to abuse than reward, and with the Paragon system we already have a mechanism to keep the game from completion, we didnt need Primals to be yet another.

@Bagstone, yeh that last part is what hits me most of the seasons. Though this may be a small exception. Got those wiz bracers that boost your shields primal. (not great, but not bad either).

You're either exaggerating your numbers and/or extremely unlucky.
The chance for primals is roughly 0.25% (on average, one in 400 legendaries is a primal).

And may the odds be ever in your favour.
