I'm certain that Inferno will be brutally hard. I haven't read a single comment saying "I'd like Inferno to be very manageable." We have Normal to Hell to have something challenging but possible. I wan't inferno to be damn near unrealistic to complete. I wan't a reason to play with max level character and to farm like crazy.
Anyone who isn't interested in playing at an extreme level has 3 other difficulties to satisfy them, so I see no reason why Inferno wouldn't be brutal.
I most definitely agree there. Once I've brought my characters up to 60, I'd want something that makes the days/weeks it took to get them there to mean something.
The Inferno I want to see is the kind where it takes me 2 months or so to complete Normal/Nightmare and Hell, and the same amount of time to get through Inferno Act 1....

Peter Alexander DzomlijaDo you hear, huh? The Alpha and The Omega? Death and Rebirth? And as you die, so shall I be Reborn...
I think it'll be extremly challenging but i dont see it lasting more than 2-3 months. The amount of time and skill people will put into some things is amazing. The only thing that was making me mad were the people claiming they'll finish inferno in 2 weeks or as one guy said, "and then 35 hours or so for inferno" refering to beating it.
I just hope it's hard enough so that when all the people who is saying, I'll beat it within 2 weeks from launch, will be the same people that whine and blame Blizzard for their inability to "finish" the game. =)
I really hope they wont ever touch inferno if it's not too easy. Hard is what gives most of us long time gamers a kick nowadays, I wouldn't care if it took me 5 months before I beat it.
My thoughts EXACTLY . With all of the threads saying " o ill own inferno within 2 weeks" it think of the old saying, the higher up they are, the harder they fall .
I've never seen developers being good at their own game, so I don't think his answer means that much.
I get what you're saying but Jay said that they would take their most skilled players and model Inferno around them only, and then DOUBLE the difficulty for release.
So they know that there are gamers out there that are beasts compared to their internal testers. I don't think their testers are any slouches though either.

Then I'll teach them how it is beatable as breeze* through it with my Barbarian...
*Pun on using whirlwind, not difficulty...
