I already posted this somewhere else, but there arent a lot of people active right now =/
I have an important question!
When Diablo appears in Act 4. He got Belial and Azmodan within him, because they are in the soulstone. Does he have all the other 4 evils within him? Baal, Meph, Duriel, Andariel?
Tyrael says he is THE prime evil and in the behind the scenes DVD they say that diablo tries to get them all 7 to be really powerful.
They say it was all planned from the beginning by diablo. Was even his death in the high heavens in act 4 planned to get Malthael on his side?
Maybe Malthael got the black soulstone now... brings it to you, tells you to kill the other 4 evils then you got all the 7 in the soulstone and BOOM! Diablo comes back as the super prime evil.
So my 2 questions are:
1. Did Diablo actually plan to die in Act 4 of Diablo 3 in the high heavens to come back later and stronger?
2. Did he have all the other 6 prime and lesser evils within him when we kill him in act 4?
Maybe this adds a 3rd question:
How will diablo come back again? Imperius would never help him. And I dont think that the other evils would, as soon as they know diablos plan, never. because they want to be the prime evil as well. I guess they all want to be the boss they arent really a team, they all maipulate each other I guess.
Also I find it strange that they kill both Cain and Leah... they introduced Leah so much. She was such an important character to me. It was obvious that she would turn, but so damn quickly? I feel like they threw her way too early away in the story.
Even Marius that stupid cunt was in almost every Cinematic in Diablo 2. Leah wont be, at least not in the expansions.
Now Tyrael is the new Cain.
Why do I think like many other people that Malthael will come back and kiss ass?
Blizzard said in one of their lore panels that not much is known about malthael yet and even they arent 100% sure what they will do with him, but they also said that he will play a big role later on in the expansions. I mean obviously he doesnt / didnt play his big role in the classic diablo 3.
When you google for malthael it says he could hold the aspect of death as well.
Blizzard says quote: At the point where Inaris and his buddies hijacked the world stone, the heart of creation, to some degree Malthael flipped out, right? This guy that's constantly thinking about the universe and the truth of reality, suddenly the heart of reality blinks out. [...] kind of over time Malthael begins to darken a little bit. We're still kind of working on his story, but interessting transition: the angel of wisdom is becomeing more like a grim character. Malthael has definitely got a big part to play in the on going story of the diablo universe.
I think it's chris Metzen who says that.
About the question: Can an angel fall and become a demon?
No they can't become a demon, but they can "fall" and become very dark.
hello malthael
I dont know if imperius is dead, but I think it's too early for him to be completly dead. Blizzard built a huge story around him, so I would wonder if he waves once in the cameras and then dies by a female Diablo who simply onehits him...
So what do you think about my thoughts, maybe there are some new ideas in it
Yeah, he can be like the other fallen archangel, Izual. Though, Izual was trapped in the body of a demon by the prime evil but he was corrupted, thus why he is fallen. Maybe Math. had been corrupted by the prime evil as well. I remember at the end of the heros cinematic it said "The anges was not strong enough to fight off the corruption of the prime evil, but I [ Sanctuary Heroes] can."
It is clear that Diablo has the 6 other evils inside him. It is clearly stated, with pictures, in the Making of Video.
Diablo has, through Leah and the Black Soulstone, absorbed, Mephisto, Baal, Andariel, Duriel, Azmodan, Belial.
The only reason this didn't reform Tathamet is that the 7 evils are the heads, and that Tathamet's body is the Burning Hells (c.f Book of Cain/Tathamet on Diablo wiki). So basically, an incomplete Tathamet. And also, Diablo tricked his brothers and absorbed them. Quite frankly, unless they planned this together, they're not gonna be happy if they return.
Diablo's essence survived in Leah from the sex with Adriah. Azmodan, Belial, we put them in the Soulstone ourselves.
So what about Mephisto and Baal? How did THEY get into the Soulstone? The only point they could have gotten in would be either when in DII we shattered their Soulstones (Diablo's and Mephisto's at one point, Baal's presumably later).
I want to watch the making of D3 video, are there any huge spoilers in that video? Or just minor?
Yes there are parts of the cinematics and also when they talk about the game.
But are there huge ones, like how the game ends, etc? Because i already know all act bosses anyways xD
Well, it does not tell you about individual quest if that is what you are referring to. It talks about characters voices, designs of Leah, the bosses, angels, environments, music, lighting for the game.
Is that after I'd snapped your neck? no way youre taking my CE!
Busted lol, didn't know such hotness was visiting these forums. Feel free to try snapping it =)
Your CE is safe, because mine is on its way
But, am I the only one who was slightly disappointed by Act 1-4 videos? I really hope there will be more of Tyrael and Imperius in game, since they are barely shown in videos. At least in their full glory.
And I feel sad for Leah. She was like a little child and had very likable personality. Poor girl probably went through hell (literaly).
These were incredible. But dammit, dammit, dammit. Why did Blizzard feel the need to absolutely annihilate Leah? Don't get me wrong - it's a fascinating story and the scene where the smoke clears on the now-possessed Leah was chilling. But, as far as video game stories go, hers is just about the most depressing thing ever.
...perhaps she will return as an angel? Wishful thinking.

Yeah I feel sorry for Leah as well, but I think that is how they can make us care more for the Diablo universe. They take the characters we love and hold dear, and destroy them or corrupt them.

They enjoy torturing your soul, perhaps. Purposely tugging on the heartstrings of everyone who plays.

When did the Black Soulstone capture their souls?
I was wondering the same... this is wierd. I guess it will be hard to tell the story between the end of act 3 and the end of act 4. that's only 1 act to tell how he got all the other evil.... wait...wtf... I think I got it... Izual!
It's said that he will make an appearance in D3 and he betrayed the angels once before.
Who else is there? Lilith, Inarius, Malthael.
Did I miss someone who could do this?
I think Izual or maybe Lilith in the hopes that she will be like the queen while diablo is king.
Lilith is the daughter of Mephisto and not a Prime or Lesser Evil.
During his fight with Anu, it got haywire and they both died. Anu's spine become the crystal arch, birthplace of angels, and his body became Heaven.
3 of Tathamet's seven heads (the most powerful 3) became the Prime Evils Diablo, Mephisto and Baal. The Four weaker heads became Azmodan, Belial, Andariel and Duriel. Supposedly, the 4 Lesser are as strong as the 3 Primes.
Tathamet's body became the Burning hells, explaining why Diablo has not become Tathamet by absorbing only the other 6 great Evils. He would need to become one with Hell.
BUT HERE'S THE CATCH. It says Andariel came to life from the head of Tathamet.
It says Lilith is Andariel's mother... and daughter to Mephisto. And not a great Evil part of the 7.... I found a plothole.
Is Andariel born from Lilith, who was born from Mephisto, who was born from Tathamet, or was she born from directly from Tathamet? In one way, she couldn't be a great Evil, leaving us to wonder what happened to the 7th head. And then in the other case... since the Nephalem were also born from Lilith and Inarius (who are probably LONG gone and vanished) that makes us Andariel's long lost little brothers and sisters. Lol. And she loved Inarius, wants nothing with Diablo. Besides, you don't do your brother's daughter... that's your niece.
Either way, I believe it has probably been retconned in the book of Cain. Andariel was probably born before Lilith, as a lesser Evil like Azmodan and Belial, from Tathamet.
Watching more of the Making of, it MIGHT explained in the game. Still, discuss more
What interests me more is how and when we trapped Mephisto and Baal in the Black Soulstone.
As it is now, judging from cinematics:
Diablo: He was in Leah all along. He left some of his essence in Leah when conceiving her with Adriah. Makes sense, since the stones are corrupted and containing their essence, he left some in the child, leaking. A bit like the Ectonurite in Ben 10 (Ghostfreak). Their mind is contained in their DNA. As long as some is left, they can reform entirely. This is clearly stated.
Belial: Kill him in Act II, put him in the stone.
Azmodan: Kill him in Act 3, put him in the stone.
Mephisto and Baal, Duriel and Andariel: It is unknown when they were put into the stone and they couldn't be into Leah since they were trapped or in Hell at the moment of her conceiving.
And About the Black Soulstone, Diablo was defeated, but his spirit was bound to the stone, which wasn't destroyed. Logically, he could return. This is incoherent with Diablo 2. The Black SS is a glorified SS, like the blue, red and yellow ones. Except better as it can bind alot of Demons and Angels within itself. What happens when you kill Diablo and do not destroy his Soulstone? Yup, more demons on your doorstep.
Yeah, i heard of this problem with Lilith and Andariel, too. But I dont care too much about it.
When i was talking about Lilith I was thinking about your problem with: who trapped mephisto and ball in the soulstone. And my answer was maybe Lilith or Izual. I'm not sure if you noticed that.
I mean you wonder how they trapped Mephisto and Baal... you should as how they got Duriel and Andariel as well. I mean it's more or less the some problem right?
Yes, indeed. I added them later and edit my post that is above yours. Lilith and Izual... could be a possibility, but when? I thought Lilith vanished at some point before the games.
And Izual wandered the plains of despair as a demon in hell while we killed Mephisto, and was killed and vanished before we killed Diablo. As for Lilith? I think Adriah will shed some light in this in Act II.
Guess I strayed in my reasoning. I tried to adress, but I guess the shorter answer was that I believe those two were not in the position to bind the 4 evils from DII.
Perhaps the Black Soulstone falling from Heaven will simply fall somewhere no one can access, having all the evils bound unto itself unable to set themselves free. This would explain why he said they were vanquished forever and explain this quote of mine:

So I'm watching the making of Diablo 3, and I must admit, they feminized Diablo waaaay too much!
I mean, I have nothing against female Diablo, I even think she's hot (:D), but watching her walk is like, seriously? She's walking like she's on a catwalk, not being the lord of terror.
Take a look at 20min20sec mark.

Well, he walks like that because of the female host.

Blizzard are the final boss(es) of Diablo. :3
Lilith is the daughter of Mephisto and not a Prime or Lesser Evil.
See...
According to the book of Cain and the transcripts here: http://www.diablowiki.com/Tathamet
Tathamet the dragon had seven heads.
