This is absolutely ridiculous. It almost makes me wish I exploited, because it looks like a lot of fun, but I'm pretty serious about abiding by the EULA/ToS and not engaging in any sort of cheating, botting, or exploiting in any game I play.
Oh well, hope it's fixed soon if it isn't already. Enjoy it while it lasts for those who choose to do it.
Back on topic: you know what this thread and the Invulnerable Wizard thread tell me?
It tells me people aren't bored with this game. It tells me people are bored with actually having to work for their items.
"Oh my god, I'm invulnerable and this is so much fun!!!1!!1!!" "Fun" is apparently brainless ease.
For what it's worth, I stated in my post that it looks like fun, because I think it does, but what you're suggesting doesn't apply to me. As both a matter of following the rules set in place by the game developers, as well as a sense of my own pride, I've made the personal choice to always work for my progress within any game I play, and avoid cheats/bots/exploits/purchasing some form of progress from others/etc. A large part of my enjoyment in any game comes from working hard and putting in effort to accomplish the desired end result. That said, however, I still think something like this looks like fun when watching it in a video -- but it's just not for me.
P.S. I realize you obviously weren't addressing me specifically with your post, I just thought I would comment on it since I'm a little bored and had something to contribute.
Along the same train of thought but a little less extreme and sarcastic, it may very well point to people feeling like they want more loot quicker, either by making more items drop or by making things able to be killed faster or easier.

You have a point. Personally, I have more fun when I can reach a point where I can utterly destroy end game content. It's fairly hard to reach that point in Act 3 right now without using the RMAH. I have pretty good gear but Act 3 still isn't a walk in the park (is it ever with a WD?).
Do note, I still enjoy playing the game but character progression is a lot more fun when you can eventually become a god and destroy everything. In my opinion at least.
//edit: What I mean by walk in the park is that I have to pay close attention or I'll die + I need to kite elites across the entire map + some combos I just skip.

I'll tell you what happened to me today.
I saw this thread, decided to try it and see if it works, and for the first time since the release I had a BLAST with the game in A3 Inferno which was, at least up to Hell, my preferred act due to the fun of Machines of War. I just liked that area.
What "bonus" did I pick? 8% life on hit.
I couldn't care less about the loot. It was as bad as it was before. My DPS was still the same, low, 20k. I still had to chain mobs to keep WotB up, and I did. I finished A3 so pumped up by actually being able to kill things without dying that I decided to give it a shot to A4.
A4 there was no exploit it, so, back to the good and old game.
Guess what? I just killed the PE and finished the game. Apparently, I had the gear for it for the past month, I just didn't have the will to do it, because I was BORED with the game.
So, to me, it tells me a different story.
It tells me that if people could find a way to not die so easily, there are those who would enjoy it more.
It tells me that if you could choose to play with the abilities that you have more fun with, you would enjoy it more.
It tells me that the game still has a lot of potential, but the whole freaking damage might still need a review. (granted that if everybody had 50k health and more LoH or if LifeSteal worked properly things could be different. Maybe the buff on Legendaries will do the trick. We will see).
"Fun" is apparently feeling that you're a hero, not made of glass.
Anyway, I had a GREAT morning today thanks to this. Was able to pass A3 and kill Ghom crap while doing A4 without the exploit and having fun with it too.
Now, all they need to do is add a new pair of wings that gives 100% health per mouse click. I'm sure there would still be people dying over and over with it, though.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack

I agree, it's something that's fun in the moment, but that's because it's something completely out of the ordinary - sometimes breaking the rules can be amusing, especially when it gives you that immortal feeling. I understand that, but I don't believe it's what this game needs. In fact, it's exactly what this game doesn't need; it brings about more monotony and lack of challenge leading to loss of attention and, inevitably, boredom.
As I said, maybe people actually enjoy the monotonous, boring grind that was Diablo. Maybe it was all the shiny (even if god awful) loot that dropped. I don't know. What I do know is that the problem with this game isn't the game itself, but the players playing it. It's a decade of being catered to, leading to a lack of patience or "deal with it" mentality. For most, this isn't a huge deal - it might lead to periodic frustrating, eventually overcome by adaptation to or acceptance of circumstance. For others, it's too much to handle.
There's a disconnect when it comes to understanding that each game isn't supposed to be an exact replica of the one before. There's no adaptation drive. I'll see if I can find it later tonight, but there's an article out there that brilliantly explains how the new generation of gamers can't or won't handle change as well as the previous generation. They want the same old crap over and over again, despite cries for "different." Game companies are faced with the challenge of dressing a pig up in lipstick because everyone still wants bacon at the end of the day.
The arcane beams doing damage while they're not hitting you is not a high latency issue. I've never been above 20MS, and Arcane beams + the hell pool in Azmodan are both doing damage, even though they're not physically hitting me. I actually had to memorize where the hell pools (all 6+ of them) were at that point. It's the only reason that Azmodan was actually even a little bit hard: bugged.
Kripp should definitely be banned. He flagrantly live streamed and recorded himself using a game exploit. They've banned people in their other games for less. Maybe if some people started getting banned for this stuff others would stop doing it as much out of fear for their account and start just reporting it instead.
Blizzard needs to make it clear it is not okay to abuse bugs in the game and someone who recorded themselves doing it is the perfect place to start.

I believe what you are experiencing is in fact intended behavior. Somewhere along the line, the design team decided it wasn't "fun" to dodge, and took player dodging out of the game. More clearly stated, the "dodge" mechanic in the game at this point is purely mechanical, not dependent on player skill.
If you are in the range of a mob or damage source when it rolls to hit you, and it succeeds on the roll to hit, you will be hit, regardless of where you are on the screen when the actual attack or damage animation catches up with you. Couple this with slight variations of character position between client and server and you can appear to be damaged from sources that are no where near you when you receive the damage.

I may be wrong.
That may or may not be true, but with the Arcane beam, it's a different story.
Let's say it spawns on 12' o clock. I run away in a straight line, so the "core" stays on 12 o'clock. 10 seconds later I return, the laser, who spawned on 12 o'clock is now at 6 o'clock, but it still hits me, even though I'm still on 12 o'clock with the core of the beam.
With Azmodan it's different as well: the pools do not seem to grow when they're on the other side of the room compared to you. It seems when something is not within your viewing range, it does not update.
Oh well, hope it's fixed soon if it isn't already. Enjoy it while it lasts for those who choose to do it.

I demand a god mod for WD that involves our pets not dying.... that would be fun (and not that overpowered).
