D2 got PKing right? We can debate about all the other points - on some of them I might agree, on some of them I'd call it a tie or "it depends on your point of view". But mentioning PKing as a good thing... you gotta be kidding me? If anyone can fill me in why PKing would even remotely be considered anything "good", be my guest.
Hey, when me an my friends have some drinks and talk about the old days playing D2 we always remember the moments when we chased down a PKr and killed him either alone or together. A lot of great, wild moments happen because of pking. Hate or love it, it was a great value to the game.
You do realize that you can disagree with design decisions without trying to call anyone who dislikes skill trees a "dummy" right? All this elitist shit from you doesn't help your credibility.
Oh please. Im not even gonna take your bait and ague with you about this. Im not here to argue basic rpg mechanics with you.
Saying that removing skills trees for a mindless skill swap function does not make me an elitist. It makes me a fan or ARPG.
I know it hurts to get out-voted by the majority, but please don't be so crass as to go down the "the people who wanted respecs were idiots" road.
.
Hurts?
Whats really hurting tho? Me or D3 as whole.
BTW, when did they have a vote? It was dictated by a person clearly had no clue what he was talking about.
But for the record it did hurt. Last I saw where videos of the skill trees. I remember when I got the game and realized there where no skill trees. My heart did drop a bit to be honest.
It also sucks that I will never have a reason to make new characters... Unless I die in HC.
No ladder.. No skill trees. Its like they just wanted my money and for me to get out ASAP.
While I agree with the latter part of the post skill trees where needed for the sake of making new characters.
Its a reason why D2 was so much fun for so long. If I could just make one main in D2 with access to all skills boredom would have settled in a lot quicker.
In D3 I could have one character and I can swap skils at any time. That's like a years worth of playing gone in seconds..
Skill trees meant builds. D3 has no actual builds really. Which when you think about it is what RPGS are all about. Builds. Its not about loot only.
In D2 a few drops could inspire you to make a new build.
I think what would really help diversity would be to allow us to assign our own attribute points upon leveling up, at least in respect to para levels.
This would realize far less reliance on gear for resists and vita, opening up far more gear choices.
Also, I apologize to everyone for my angry, semi-childlike outbursts earlier. I have quit again, I just don't feel the urge to log-in, and this pains me. I want this game to succeed and I see such silly issues standing in the way of that happening any time soon.

Is this a wow thing? Don't get it really..

Yeah, pretty sure it is. Maybe it's because there's not much to be talked about the original post's subject matter.
If you guys wanna compare D2 and D3 (yet again, despite the hundreds of past discussions), feel free to create a new thread. Gonna lock this one.
