This is probably so obvious that everyone has noticed it on their own already, but just in case anyone hasn't..
..bounties in adventure mode are really nice for chipping away at some of those annoying long-term achievements!
Since you can look at the whole map of all 5 acts and see what the bounties are, you can immediately spot if there are any uniques or events that you need for an achievement. The big one is of course "A Unique Collection" (and its Act V counterpart "Special Assignment"), but I've also been ticking off the Cursed Chest events for each act, and last night finallygot the last ghost for "Haunted" when The Tomekeeper was a bounty target.
There are probably other possibilities, too. For instance, I need one more merchant for "Market Research", Halmin the Alchemist. Apparently he spawns in The Foundry. You can bet I'll be keeping an eye open for a "Clear the Foundry" bounty (not sure if all side dungeons can have Clear bounties, but I hope so).
Anyway, if you're just playing a quick session and plan to knock over a few bounties, take a look to see if any of them will help with achievements!
The same for me actually. At some point in 1.0.8 I was bored enough to hunt some achievements, and one I thought I could do pretty quickly was the Ghost achievement. So I ran cemetery and archives just like crazy, but no luck.
The other say I saw that one of my bounty goals was "Dataminer"... I immediately recognized the name. Finally!
I believe, since the game registers the kill for everyone in-game because you get the bounty rewarded, the other players don't even need to be around for that. Not sure if the others got Dataminer (we were trying out split farming), but I certainly got an achievement for completing all Cursed Chests in one act that I didn't set a foot in.

Hope this is useful to someone..
