When the thread Will you use Blizzard forums or stick with Diablofans? popped up, I questioned myself as to whether I'd move or not. The only thing that I haven't been happy about on these forums as opposed to others (which I'm not even sure the blizzard forums have) is the fact that subscribing to threads is a difficult and gruelling process. I addressed this concern as a suggestion to be fixed a while back in Subscribed threads.
But I love these forums, so I searched long and hard to try find any resemblance of the type of subscribed threads that is more appealing. I found that in fact things have changed which is great! But I'm not exactly sure how to utilize them correctly. In the notifications I have Watch every topic I reply to activated and If enabled, choose default notification type: Immediate. Further down in the Other Notifications section, I have Notify me of new comments Inline notification selected.
These inline notifications are exactly what I'm looking for, but the problem I have now is that I get a notification for each and every new reply made in a thread I posted in. Obviously this quickly floods me with notifications. All I want is to have a notification that new post(s) have been in some thread and stop at that. Once the inline notification is read, then it can tell me again when new posts have been made. Is there an option for this? Oh and what is the mobile option?
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

Just out of curiosity, how do you go about managing all the threads that you've posted in? Do you manually subscribe to each thread?
I'm a long time member in two other fora and both employ a simple and effective subscription method to keep track of the threads you've replied in. Maybe I've just become lazy by being accustomed to those features
I use the regular forum view to navigate the forum, and I pretty much remember which threads I've posted in. I don't use the subscribe feature at all.
This solution is however much more easy for me to maintain since I rarely post in the D3 forum, and most other forums have an activity level that allows me to still keep track of everything. When I'm a little confused I generally just look at the letter to the far left on the forum view on each thread. If there's a green dot it means you've posted in it.

I have a feeling that even though that method works for your forum-browsing style, you'd instantly fall in love with the subscribe features that other fora have to offer
Ok maybe on a more serious note you'd at least toss out these more primitive forms of forum-browsing.
In the mean time, I'm just going to be experimenting with the notifications options since I still don't understand how they all work exactly.
