I just bought a mac retina display. It's a pretty sweet machine, but it has no optical drive. I want to play D3. How can I install/buy the game. If I buy the CD on amazon, will it come with a digital download?

You basically add the game to your battle.net account, and can download the client from their. As long as you get a CD Key, I believe you're fine.

Just go to https://us.battle.net/account/management/claim-code.html and type in the CD Key. Voila!
