Highly doubt it, I dont even think Blizzard knows when it wants to release d4. Right now the game is in early alpha. They probably have a development road map as to when they want to finish certain phases of the game but right now they only have a philosophy and no methodology to back that philosophy up in terms of how they want to make Diablo 4.
No chance in hell will we get the game by 2020. 2022 is the most likely outcome if we're very lucky possibly late 2021. The only reason we got shown Diablo 4 this early in the devolpment cycle was to avoid/erase the cluster fuck that was Blizzcon 2018 and it's mobile/microtransaction disaster again. As cool as the statue is it is in no way tied to the actual game's release.

It was going to be announced last year but they delayed it at last second. It would've been announced regardless, probably.
D4 is quite literally years away. At least three is my guess, closer to 4 most likely. What we saw is pre alpha. 2020's blizzcon most likely will show us at least 1 of the remaining classes to be announced, probably both. 2021 Blizzcon will either show the 2nd, or just the rest of the systems they decided on. Might get some beta news after, and if we're lucky a launch sometime late in 2022. 4

Well first of all, 2022 is only 3 years away, not 4. It’s the end of 2019... lol. And second, considering blizz specifically said they don’t want it to be like D3’s development, Which was released 4 years after its announcement, only because it had major development issues. Best guess is D4 will go into closed beta sometime in 2021 and if all goes well, be released end of that year.

"Soon" does not imply any particular date, time, decade, century, or millennia in the past, present, and certainly not the future.
"Soon" shall make no contract or warranty between Blizzard Entertainment and the end user.
"Soon" will arrive some day, Blizzard does guarantee that "soon" will be here before the end of time. Maybe.
Do not make plans based on "soon" as Blizzard will not be liable for any misuse, use, or even casual glancing at "soon."
That's why and how they use ''Soon''
That's why they have soon(TM) to cover them up, even if ''soon'' for any other person means, within a short timespan.
My guess would be for 15 May 2012 (10 years after D3 release date)
Blizzard offers Lilith Statue with a deliverydate of 30.8.2020
so we can hope for a near releasedate of the game itself??
Highly doubt it.
Normal "Soon": within a week.
"Blizzard Soon": Around 4 years.
"Not even Blizzard Soon": 4+ years.
If only they said something about not taking as long for D4’s release as they did to release D3.... oh wait... rofl. 2 years kids.
You're really clinging to them saying they don't want to repeat D3's release, but it seems you're forgetting Diablo 3 originally began in 2000. It took them 12 years and a complete revamp / start over to make Diablo 3.
D4 won't take 12 years, but you're likelier to have a golden comet smash in your backyard then get a D4 release in two years. What we saw was barely fit to be called pre alpha.

Blizzard said they didn’t want D4 to take as long as D3 from its official announcement-to-release, not from original planning to release. It was only 4 years. Announced in June 2008 and released in May 2012. So we can know blizz wants to take ‘a lot’ less than that. So a good guess would be around 2-ish years. And the super accurate “leak list” on Reddit also puts the release date as end of 2021. So we know blizz hopes to. As do I. So I’d rather stick with the assumption there won’t be any massive screw ups and it comes out on time. *awaits golden comet*. >_<

Yeah I would bet money on both classes being playable next year at the con. I can't imagine them not having a playable class and having to develop itemization, combat, etc., with only three classes. I feel like it would be like the baseline for moving forward on many fronts.
Also agree with @WishesHeHadBeta on the timeline. Makes sense on many fronts.
It's also usually the case that what we see at BlizzCon is usually a bit behind what they actually have internally. For instance, the next wow raid area they showed off in one of the panels was already datamined showing a lot more progress before the event.

It is a statue, not the game. Both arent connected at all.
2022 is my guess. Christmas 2021 is my hope.
That's my guess too. Shadowlands 2020, overwatch 2 2021, D4 2022 - the three biggest franchises in active development with a 3 year release pipeline makes investors happy.

A better chance is that is when Pre-Orders for D4 go live and whatever in-game extras that go along with the various editions will go live as well.

They said the game isn't even Blizzard Soon(TM) soon, so...probably like 2022 like most are saying.

Yea dude, thus why I said "at least 3".

Remember kids.
If there is a Diablo IV date in stores without any date on Blizzards official sites - then its a placeholder.
Stores always love to take chances so people pre-order, and are in general assholes.
Thanks.

i'd say 6 years.. Maybe 7 when they realize all the bloopers they made and fix them (Rathma being friends with Lilith + Inarius having his wings).
