-Why the rumoredrelease of Q4 2021 is probably accurate:
1)They wouldn't have officially announced D4 in the first place if they weren't confident they could have it released in around 2 years. D3 was planned for just over 2 years and only took nearly 4 years due to multiple 6-8 month developmental delays. Looking at the demo, D4 is definitely further along than D3 was at announcement. Also, Blizzard saying it's "not even blizzard soon" after D4's initial announcement doesn't mean anything, its intentionally vague. No company is releasing a game any standard of "soon" right after its very first announcement of existence. lol
2) D4 is being developed with a planned co-release on both the new PS5 and Xbox 'Series X' systems. Those new systems just so happen to be coming out this year and they definitely want a lot of people to have already purchased one of them before release since D4 probably wont be playable on their current systems GPUs. So 1 year after their release makes sense.
3)WoW: Shadowlands is launching this year, so then launching D4 Q4 of next year just makes sense from a stockholder perspective that also pleases its fan base by winning back their trust after D3's multiple delays.
and we'll get another developer update around Aug-September then another around Nov-December. They will quickly run out of things to show us by this years Q4 update. Another sign of release
In my opinion, Blizzard will not rush D4, A lot is at stake, basically, the entire future of the franchise, sure there will always be fans of the games, but if Blizz wants long term (shows, movies ect.) they need this to succeed.

Of course, and they aren't rushing it. They've been developing D4 for quite awhile now. I'm predicting that if there aren't any major problems from now until release, it'll definitely come out Q4 2021 or soon after. They don't have to worry about people liking D4, everyone already does with the new changes i listed. They only really have to worry about major bugs at this point.

IMHO - 2022 or 2023.
People already likes D4? We know pretty much nothing about the game - we have an awesome trailer, a very little ingame video, but other than that, we more or less know nothing, no systems have been revealed, no endgame (apart from d4 mythic+ very loosly explained).
I think the game is quite faraway at this point and I think (hope) blizz is taking their time with this one.
Yes, my current prediction (influenced by the covid-19 pandemic) is the same. What we saw at Blizzcon 2019 showed a game in a very good state. At Blizzcon 2021 they would probably announce the open beta of Diablo 4 and a release will follow in late 2021.
The aRPG genre is getting more popular with each and every day, and some other top studios are about to release their games in 2022, so Blizzard hitting the late 2021 is crucial for developing a strong player base and protecting its position on the market.
In times like these I expect almost all games from any company in the world will be delayed. Especially a game that is not expected to release any time soon.

Huh? where have you been? They played an in-depth demo last year and have given us a sh*t ton of info on the new skill and talent system as well as the new features including an open world and pvp. And they have been giving us quarterly updates on the game with another big update about to drop end of this month. So the game is definitely set to release sooner than 2023 without a doubt. They have taken their time and they have made a great game, lol. Here => https://diablo4.blizzard.com/en-us/news

Maybe for some companies. Delaying billions in revenue isnt in the best interest of any company, especially one with workers who do all their work digitally, programmers can easily communicate and have meetings digitally as well. With a huge company there's less chance of them greatly shifting any timelines because they've already suffered losses because of COVID-19. And its a chinese owned company. lol
They have in no way given us a "shit ton" of info. They have shown us a very very basic talent tree, a few rune combos and introduced some new afixes.
We have gotten 1 quarterly update so far that was about monster families.
I hope you are right that we will all be playing d4 in 2021, I just don't think it's going to happen.
I am really looking forward to the next update and hope it is about actual game systems and or endgame.
They've given us tons of gameplay footage, extensive info on how the new talent system will work and look, most of the new features and even item affixes. What info exactly are you looking for? Because short of giving us a literal list of every item/affix/skill/boss in the game, they've given us 80% or more of everything were going to see at launch. PVP, open world, gameplay, 3/5 classes, talent trees, affix items, monster families. they've given us all of that and will probably drop a bunch more in a couple weeks.
And them giving us every tiny detail about the gameplay isn't the end-all be-all indicator of wither the game will be released sooner or later. But If anything, the amount of info they've given us indicates a sooner release, not a later one. If there's a delay, they'll mention it at the develop update at the end of this month, otherwise stay positive my friend. The company doesn't have a great track record, but i have a good feeling about D4's development team. Perhaps you're right and a more realistic date is around Q2-3 of 2022. with 2023 being absolute worst case scenario if lots of sh*t goes wrong like with D3's development.
Blizzard Entertainment has officially canceled BlizzCon 2020, but says an online version of the event could happen in early 2021. i think summer/autumn 2021 Diablo IV come out

I guess I am really waiting for endgame systems, the last 2 classes, indepth talents, skills, modifiers etc.
As I said, I hope you are right :-), it's pretty much the only game I am waiting for, nothing else seems to be able the scratch that itch, besides the 2-3 weeks of every season in d3.
Releasing D4 at the state close to the reveal at blizzcon 2019 would be really fucking bad. its basically D3 all over again.
Make the game like D2. or try something compeltely NEW and diablo feel
If they keep that diablo 3 gameplay with shitty graphics that looks like d3 all over again even if they say its gothic that shit isnt even gothic its still cartoony with full of colors, while i agree its better than d3 a little bit its still far off than a real diablo games.
Also mythic item is a dogshit idea. having 4 legendary unique in items is way too overpowered and will make the game way too easy ( When you get one ) and we will get one eventually and make the game easy mode.
They unfortunately took the diablo 3 path and even thought d3 sold extremely well it was received with mixed reviews so it's risky for them to keep going that route. While D2 had less playerbase with a godly reputation. i guess blizzard cares more about money than quality product really sad to see
But with Rod Furgusson at lead to ship that game u can be sure that the game will be an uncompleted piece of garbage just like gears 5 was . I Will skip and not buy that game 100% sure. D2 is still the Goat. Fuck this piece of trash called diablo 4 lol
Im pretty sure diablo 4 is already done. the file was 30 Gig already from a site i saw, and i know how blizzard do their thing, diablo immortal has been done for a year and they still havent released it its the same with d4... they will tell you that they are changing stuffs and etc but the game is already fnished basically and people think its not lol... absolute sheep i guess idk

Well i dont think we need to know endgame systems until its in Beta. With D3 we only ever got to play the first act even in the Beta so who knows. might not know exact endgame details until launch.
I feel your pain, but ive been trying to find other games as well and so far ive found Torch light 2 isnt that bad. super cartoony though. Torch light 3 is supposed to launch this year too. And then possible games coming out before D4: New World, Baldur's Gate 3, Lost Ark, Path of Exile 2. those could all release sometime beginning next year.

I'd like to believe this is true-ish. The game is probably mostly done and they are waiting to also see how the market is turning out due to COVID-19. Perhaps at the online version of Blizzcon this year they will give us a possible D4 release window.
I think we do need to know the endgame systems way before launch - asap imo, so we can provide feedback. Worst case senario (imo) is only 1 endgame system, like we have in D3 - thats what makes every season dull for me after about 2 weeks.
With D3 beta we did only get up to skeleton king in act 1 yes - that was to protect the story - mind you, advendture mode didn't come with launch - I would think (hope) they have learned from this come D4.
I expect a beta, detached from story mode, so we can propperly test systems, skills, modifiers etc.
In many ways, I hope Blizzard is taking some insperation from PoE - I dont mean to make every aspect of the game overly complicated, but there is alot to do in PoE, and that is (imo) the biggest downside of current D3.
They haven't even revealed the last 2 classes. no way do we get this in 2021 at this rate.
The final 2 classes are the paladin and amazon. And just because they simply didn't reveal the final class gameplay doesn't mean they aren't finished. It's more likely they kept them a secret for this new "quarterly developers update" thing that they started. We saw the other classes in full action using skills, talents and all their game play. I'm betting the last 2 classes have been done and they are just waiting for one of these quarterly updates to reveal them. We'll probably see another class or both at the Dev update in a couple weeks. Q4 2021 is also over a year and a half away still.

Yea PoE is way too complicated, and D3 is too simple. So a nice balance between the two sounds perfect to me. And im not sure what endgame they could possibly make to keep you coming back for more than 2 weeks every season. I'm not a huge fan of Grifting but idk what else would be a better fit. PVP will be fun for endgame for me.

without sense to reveal class in update quarter. Update quarter show families monster and technical devolpment. Classes cannot be revealed in update you lose much hype for the public. Blizzard reveal class only in Blizzcon example : see diablo 3 Crus & necro . to 99 % reveal other 2 classes with the streaming early 2021.blizzard must explain the history of the 2 new classes, show the gear Transmog, the gameplay. What the two diablo IV classes drew inspiration from. a minimum of lore of the two new classes. this cannot be shown through a sad blue post.
I’m pretty sure they will try to delay the release of D4 as long they could like they are doing with Immortal. Blizzard has no other games on the horizon and with most of their current games either dead or dying, they will be biding their time until they think of the next warcraft themed hit game. Shareholders will be happy that people are getting hyped for a new game and when revenue drops from their other games and shareholders start to worry, only then comes D4.
