So, right now at 1.12, would you say that a WC Barb is still a good choice?
If you can find the gear is a fun build....but good luck finding it!!!....affording it is one thing but finding someone that has it and then convincing them to trade it aint easy...least not when I last played(about a year or so ago). Honestly tho I wouldnt bother its a lot of fucking around for a build you might not be great with even with a lot of pratice unless ur really pro
Personally my favorite build has been an Inferno Sorc... Although, it's not really a normal build, it can wreck in PvM because of the high damage per second, especially when combined with a frost nova attack. The damage can be kind of low after Normal mode though, which is where things can be hard, but playing offline, I use the /players X 'cheat' and bump up the players to 8 and do perfectly fine solo. I only die when doing runs, and that's still only a couple of times.
Oh and Inferno Sorcs are pretty cheap, and can be done at an early level too. Level 19 is the level you need for the staff that's really good. Tir and Ral rune adds 3 to all fire skills and 3 to inferno. Just find a staff that adds more to inferno and two slots and you've got one heck of a staff.
I still like WW barbs. WW needs synergies bad right now. It annoys me that with synergies my 1 point of bash does more damage then my WW.
Plus, to be really good WW barbs pretty much have to use RW weapons. I loved my eth Executioner's Justice, but dang it just didn't kill fast enough on higher acts of Hell.
If I can find a good glorious axe, I might try BOTD it.
Fury Barbs are a lot of fun too. Especially mace or hammer ones if you can get the right weapons.

[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]"Fool! You have just ensured the doom of this world. You cannot even begin to imagine what you've set in motion this day. Go to the Temple of Light, in the eastern ciry of Kurast. There you will find the gate to Hell opened before you. You must find the courage to step through that gate Marius. Take the stone you hold to the Hellforge, where it will be destroyed. Now run! Take the stone and run!"
For some reason Thorns and Spirit of Barbs aren't really anything in comparison to Iron Maiden. That's something I hope they fix so more people use those skills. Neither are really good for anything.
Thorns would only work against a melee class like a Barb
The issue is that while you have the aura up, you lose the advantages of any other aura you would be using, like Fanaticism, Conviction, Concentration, etc. So it's not worth it because the actual damage Thorn's return damage isn't enough to even scratch the loss of an aura that directly benefits your damage or accuracy (or both).
Just to give you a kind of vague idea of how nerfed Thorns is (and I think this applies to Spirit of Barbs, too), it faces the following limitations:
It takes 1/6 PVP damage opponent deals, subtracts any damage reduction you have on you, follows up with a 1/10 damage return penalty, and then is further reduced by any damage reduction your opponent has (Think the massive amounts Ber's, Dungo's, Storm Shields's, Shako's, etc. all give). So it returns almost nothing, or at least not a real amount of damage that would seriously hurt a tank like a Barbarian or any serious meleer.

To clarify: Your opponent deals damage to you via a physical melee attack. 1/6 of that damage will hit you and 5/6 bounces back, and then that 5/6 is reduced again to 1/6 (so, 5/6 * 1/6).
So say an opponent deals 1000 physical damage: ((1000 damage) * (5/6 * 1/6)) * 1/10 = approx. 13.8888889 = 14 damage returned.
Assume the enemy hits you with an attack doing 5K damage. You have level 25 Thorns, which returns 1210% damage.
-Enemy damage gets reduced to 1/6 by PVP penalty: 5000/6 = 833 damage
-Any damage reduction on you reduces the damage taken. But let's assume you want to maximize the thorns damage and thus have no reduction. <no change>
-Thorns return is 1210%: 833 x 13.1 = 10912 damage
-1/10 reduction for damage returned%: 833/10 = 1091 damage
-1/6 PVP penalty again: 182 damage
-Any damage reduction your opponent has. Assume 50%: 91 damage
So with a level 25 thorns, you're taking 833 damage and only returning 91.
The 1/10 reduction is only applied to PVP. Not really worth it

Yeah its sad right now how long that so many skills have gone unused simply because they are completely useless Hopefully the new patch helps fix some of them

Hdins are OP and you all know it
After them being OP since like patch 1.10 I would hope everyone does by now
The best character I've played for PvM is a "hammerdin." I never ran into anything I couldn't kill. From the posts already here, it sounds like there are potentially a couple monsters that can't be killed with hammers. /violin
The most fun character I've played for PvM is a "trapsin." I never ran across a mob I couldn't kill. If it was immune to lightning, I would convert it (confuse, etc.) and then corpse explode it. I also liked fade, the increased run speed and not having to carry keys.
I dont think they changed anything that would really mess it up, so yes. Still a good choice. As long as you have the right build.
Hdins are pure pwnage, i hate them.
Bone necro's are my favorite, but they are mainly PVP.
Javazons have a high dmg too, mainly PVP with charged strike, but Lightning fury is really strong against anything, except light immunes ofcourse.
Blizz sorc's are one of the strongest i'd say.
Wind druids are really tough too.
Anyway, as for who is the strongest... Righ now its the Hammerdin, no doubt.

I never really liked PvP; no info for you there.
