It is essentially that the game does not have the economy that was intended for it because people have exploited countlessly hacks and bugs/glitches (which is strictly against the EULA) and altered the economy so. This, in turn, has given way to the ladders being impossible for any real player to climb because of the limitless amount of bots which grind and level while their owner is off doing whatever for however long, has given way to unequalize the playing field in favor of people with more money that can afford to spend it on online sites to buy in-game items (which is, again, against the EULA), and has created the epidemic of thousands and thousands of accounts and characters strictly created to spam channels, games, and whispers to every player about these websites.
I don't think that's everything, but it is a lot of it.
I am, however, moving this to the proper forum for it, the Diablo II forum, since this is not about Diablo III.
Thanks so to fix this. They need a check box right next to create a character. Allow trades/notrades. If you choose no trades you will be online with only people who have chosen no trades. Which means you will not be able to trade. Then make the accounts tied to ip addresses and cd keys so no one can buy characters. Then make it so if you drop an item only you can pick it up. Then make the character save file read only and invisible to get rid of hacking. Every 2 hours of game play the game stops and you have to enter an on screen code to get rid of bots. If you choose trades everything is back to normal.

edit: Although, making accounts tied to IP's is a pretty good idea, sounds like they'll be making them tied to CD keys though, so we may see a drop in spammers.

Well, I think the disadvantage of that (if I'm thinking of what you're thinking of) is that then you can't use your account on any computer but your own or one on your network (depending on the IP they use), or if you get a new IP (that's possible, right?), etc. I...um...My head hurts.
The long procedure it to prevent dupe items from being made characters being sold bots being used and people from cheating cant edit a read only file that is hidden unless you are pretty computer savvy.
Edit scratch out the tied to Ip adress and make it cd keys.

I think he means when you kill a boss it drop items randomly or rare item drop like every tenth time instead of magic dictating how often.

bosses should drop things based on ur mf... otherwise mf is useless...? explain your point? and plz dont bring wow into this... idc how wow does it.
Well sorry buddy, but WoW has none of the problems D2 has. Imo MF should be taken completely out of the game. Bosses should drop items based on your character level in each difficulty. For instance in hell at level 90 Baal has a 10% chance to drop the grandfather etc... etc.. No more shit drops from bosses at all. Also have the countess drop runes based on your character level. Normal countess level 1 - 25 runes, nightmare 25- 49, hell 49 and up.
With those two small changes I guarantee you it would balance loot out. Make runewords easier to make, and essentially make buying gear with your dollars IRL not worth it... :thumbsup:
But a large part of the end-game was, sadly, grinding. Grinding for items. So if items are really easy to get, it is my opinion that more people will lose interest in the game more quickly. I think they would have to implement other challenges if they're going to remove this hard- but pathetic- one so that we have something else to do in the end game but duel and level.
I also hate MF and the runs you have to make with it..
Also the fact that people create some characters that only do 1 task.. run meph or something with huge amount of MF.
I rather make just 1 char and play that as long as I want to and find whatever items I can with it while playing. Also I don't try to wear all MF I can possibly get.. if I happen to find gear with MF that fits my other needs .. then I use it and probably get a few more items.
I think they should leave major gameplay the way it is in Diablo II and pool their resources into Diablo III to correct the mistakes they made with the last two installments

Imo there are so many mistakes in D2 that its better to make a totally new game and fix all the crap deep down inside the game.

ok wow doesnt have these problems mainly because millions of people are spending 15 bucks a month on a game that is constantly getting updates and patches and expansions... there is no money pool to fix d2... and i think a lvl 80 char in hell with 300 mf should get better items than a char lvl 99 in hell with no mf... lvl favoritism just makes it easier... and we dont want easy... its easy enough with duping... thats why wow has fewer problems also... monitoring servers and no duping... you dont want runewords easier to make... they are too easy to make is the problem... everybody has them... the point was to make shit harder to get so you dont have a million people with enigma hoto ebotd coh cta etc etc etc...
