Do any of the beta testers have good data on the mechanics of Armor, Resistance, and Defense?
Just based on the way they are displayed they seem to be similar to Armor, Resistance and Resilience in WoW. However I have not seen any solid numbers (let alone formulae) for how they actually work. (ie, 50 armor for -50% physical damage taken at level 1)
It shouldn't be difficult to produce some numbers... just put on and take off pieces of armor on a few different characters of different level, and see how the displayed damage reduction scales. Resistance and Defense may be a bit harder since they seem to be less common affixes, but they should still be doable.
Well most of the defensive stats are entirely dependent upon abilities, gear etc because they are always 0. The only one that changes with defense is Damage reduction.
Now this seems to act really strange. Rather than increasing slowly for all classes (although at different rates) it seems to decrease exponentially for 3 of the classes. 2 of them have no damage reduction at all.
